As promised, here are the updates for Survivor mode in Beta this summer.
These updates concern the server and functionality.
So, without any further delay, here is the list of changes:
- Increase of the current 45-minute time limit between two matches during a Survivor series to 12 hours
- Removal of the T1 room
- Removal of the daily and monthly ranking. Instead, we’ll just keep the weekly ranking
- New format, 12 cards, 60 stars max
- Reduced round time to make the mode more exciting: 80/70/60/50
- Increase in all the prizes awarded at the end of the week
- Integration of Deathmatch bonuses, that will represent a Clintz bonus at the end of the match:
1/Revenge: To get your revenge on another player: beat them after they’ve beaten you (not necessarily in a row) => 100 Clintz
2/Persecution: Beat the same player several times (not necessarily in a row) => 150 Clintz
3/Higher score: Beat a player whose Survivor score is higher than yours => 200 Clintz
4/Buzz kill: Beat a player who's in a series of 5 consecutive wins or more => 250 Clintz
The Hall of Fame will be kept because the mode is a Beta version.
If the mode is not satisfactory, we’ll reinstate the Survivor mode as it was before, with its Hall of Fame and 2 rooms.
However, if the figures reveal increased participation rates (around 600 players per day, we’d like to double this amount), then this mode will become its final version as of the second update (that only concerns its visuals) and the Hall of Fame will be reset to zero as it will no longer correspond to anything.
The second update (visuals) will take place at the same time as the new mobile version, that is, on September 24th on iOS and Web and October 15th on Android. The name of Survivor mode will also be changed then…
So, see you on Wednesday June 6th to test out this new Survivor mode!
So, when staff started intrducing op cards like Zaveli, Behemoth, etc., the justification was that they were for the new version of survivor. If this is the new version of survivor i fail to see how those op cards work any better here than in the current version of survivor...

Regarding the changes:
Removal of the T1 room
As I am solely a T1 player, removal of the T1 room would be devastating to me and many others I'm sure. I understand that in order to be competetive in the mode you need to be fairly wealthy and that is probably why there is reduced player count. But it is just a really fun format for me where I can use all my favorite cards.
Removal of the daily ranking
Well there goes my main source of getting tokenz. Only keeping a weekly ranking would make it significantly difficult for daily players to earn tokenz unless they got a crazy high streak.
Reduced Round Time
Personally, I am a very in-depth thinker and reducing the round time is another huge blow to me. I don't usually take up the entire time limit but sometimes it's necessary. The long round time even occassionaly helps me because sometimes I disconnect and need to restart the app.
I don't mind this change

A welcome change in my book because sometimes you just can't find people on to play.
If the changes are what I listeded above, I will no longer be participating in "Survivor" mode anymore. I will probably move into EFC.

not sure what to say other than we'll have to wait and see. i can understand why it isn't going down very well- it's such a fundamental shift in the way this game works; has always worked. Formats have always been based around 8 card decks. maybe it'll be the best thing ever, who knows, but i wouldn't make such a change lightly.

I could deal with the reduced round time, though I certainly relate to those who like a mode that allows them time to think and focus more on strategy than a combination of speed, pressure, and strategy.
Please don't take away the daily Survivor awards, UR. We're only complaining about this stuff, because we love you, UR.

personally i've never had an issue finding opponents in the main competitive rooms (if i survivor, i do it in T2). i'm sure it used to be 20 minutes downtime before your streak expired, i came back to 45 and thought it a bit generous!
and yes, everything Jettaxi said.
While I am sad the T1 room is going away, I understand why. It took forever to find a T1 opponent unless it was early in the week (and everyone was completing Survivor missions...).
I personally don't like T2. Too many forks and 50:50s.
