I'm just wondering, but why do so many people make presets with more than 8 cards?
I can understand if it's for Type 2, and you don't want to use higher level cards, but most of the time they could do without the extra cards.
I even understand using 8 cards + a leader, if you wanted an even chance of getting each clan(ill advised, but understandable at least)
Presets are there to help other players, and as a way to share deck building ideas right?
so, why is it so often that there are presets that have no point?, presets that are full of cards that don't work well together at all, presets that contain 10 5 star cards.
I'm just wondering, is there an additional strategic advantage to having 9 cards in your deck, that i'm not aware of?
There are lots of stupid presets, if u ask me, they should be deleted and posting a preset should be an option to high level players who know what are doing and are experieced, also there should be sanctions since posting usseles presets it like spamming, and noone likes spamming.
Maybe people speculating on getting concrete advice that are too lazy to look at well-rated preset, switch on their own brain and modify their own deck.
Personally I find it useless clutter as is now. Just to see what happens, I created one preset with 8 cards, each 2 stars. The result was as expected: the explanation that this is intended is not read and negative ratings pile up. It is a fun deck and says so (yet gets good points even when losing). As I said: total clutter and uselessness. Together with not really many option to get to see the decks I want to see. I have no real suggestion for improvement, though . A first step for that would be getting to know what the general player _expects_ from presets.
Personally, I at this point expect to only shake my head in rejection of all that I see. I once expected to look for decks with nice ideas - not even killer builds as I like to play "idiotic" decks from a pure power viewpoint sometimes. But as observed in the first post: there is really so much rubbish... That is the price of "Web 2.0", and if I sound harsh so be it: every [word of choice to be entered here] can give his opinion, as ill-founded as it may be. And his friends can boost him. Wohoo!
I actually dont go there often, but the 2 or 3 times i been there i found it of no use at all, its particularly boring to simply go and copy a made deck, and its frustating to see how many people posts silly things that makes u waste ur time if ur searching for something at least fun. I generally go to memento mori's page and get mi ideas there.
I just don't get why, people have to release a deck that has been released before. *Example rescue, all of them are basically the same*The decks that you know suck and has a low rating should get deleted after a few days. It would clear up space and everything. Both of my presets are +90 so they suck, but at least they are not in the -100s like this deleted I just hate trying to find a good deck to play with, and only coming up with bad ones. Takes a while to find the diamond in the rust, but worth it I guess.
To sum it up, the decks with -100 or higher should get deleted after a few days.
I believe the sorting system is somethiing that could be improved. Instead of showing the newest presets, the ones with the highest ratings should be shown first. Obviously this won't stop the spamming or the problem, but until they change something as far as who can publish presets, I think changing the sorting system will at the very least, make it a useable feature. I have 2 presets with a rating over 200 and I think they're quite good, but no one other than friends, or friends of friends ever see them other than when I first published. I've checked certain players' presets such as Ground Zero's, 0UC_PeIN's and LittleTK WMD's because they are successful players, but other than that, I also find very little use to the system. The only reason I find myself using the feature is to give negative ratings to useless decks such as described to do my part in "trimming the fat" so to speak.
The one's that have negative ratings do disappear within a few days. I'm pretty sure they disappear even if they have low positive ratings. We should all make an effort to put positive ratings on good decks so that newer players really will get a sense of which decks are better.
Here are my presets. Rate them positive if you like them.
