I've played Urban Rivals for a relatively long time an for the longest time I really only played daily tournaments or trained in the lost ware house. I hoped to some day get good enough cards to ELO but never had them. Recently I felt I'd gotten enough good cards so I finally decided to really give ELO a shot. I fought hard all week I ended up with a rating over 1400. And yet for all the work all week long I got less clintz then I get in my worst daily tournament. Of the 10k some players I was in the top 100, the top 1% and yet all I had to show for it were a few credits I could have won in days worth daily tournaments and an almost insultingly low amount of clintz. With there being only a 10% chance to get a CR if you even make top 100 and like a 1-2% chance of getting a good CR its pretty obvious ELO isn't worth the trouble right now.
So my question then is, what strategies do you all use to play ELO and make it worth your effort? I've tried playing ELO during daily tournaments so I'd get credit for both tournaments but players in ELO tend to play really slowly and doing well in daily tournaments is all about speed. As such my daily tournament scores suffered horribly. Is there a way to make playing ELO worth the trouble, or is it really just a prestige thing, your playing for the sake of knowing you did well and not for any meaningful prize?
ELO MODE IS ABOUT THE STRATEGY THATS WHY THEY REMOVE THE BEST CARDS
anybody with a Marco, Alec or a Lyse Teria can win
but not in elo, cards like that are not allowed
elo makes the game more hard to play and for me more fun
i don't win anything yet and I'm not complaining
ELO isn't set up for players to win Clintz and CRs. It's to prove how good YOU are against the rest of the world.
I personally HATE daily's as they last an HOUR and are determined by how can play the most matches more offten then who is the better player. ELO spreads it out over a week so that the cream can rise to the top.
ELO isn't worth while if your going in there trying to make a profit...
And if your playing the daily's to make a profit, take the time you spend, get a minimum wage job, and go by credits. You will make MUCH MORE that way then by wasting your time playing a game.
A funny idea to solve this might be to make set Clintz and credit awards, but Crs random... But then that would remove the jackpot, which adds an element of fun... XD
Like 30 000 for 1st Eloer, and so on... And if you really want the Cr, that would be where the skill part comes in, but a good change of rewards can make Elo worthwhile even if you don't aim for the Cr and play casually...
And as for DTs giving more Clintz, not everyone gets to the top 10 either...
Daily Tournaments are more strategy, less tactics, ELO is all about the Tactics. I'm not sure which is superior, but ELO is definitely more satisfying...working out that your opponent literally cannot beat you with his last 2 cards if you play right is great!
Although I am by no means an elite (having played just 2 ELO tourneys ever, and only gotten up to 1300 points before wandering off and doing something else), I think that the top 100 should most certainly get more than they do...this was part of the reason I didn't carry on trying to make it to the top 100...taking it from the top 25 seems unfair, however. I think that raising the minimum requirement to earn ANY clintz to 1200 is probably more fair.
