Check out the new game mode Survivor (in beta):
And the new rule for 50/50 in non random rooms:
We hope you'll like the news/changes
In every single mode of the game, you have the ability to play with or without random (if you want to play TQ without random, play in ELO). Survivor is no-random only.
Now, dont believe that because you "hear" more those who dislike random, there is also a vast and silent majority who likes it. People tends to yell when they dont like something but to say nothing when they like it.
ANd also, I'm sick of peoples who wants us to tweak the game just because they can't win in the current context. Damned, look at the rankings, there are players that are at the very top EVERY time, with or without random. Dont tell me they are just luckier than you are.
(stop rants about that or I'll have to close the subject).
As for people with relevants Survivor questions:
@RG365: you'll receive a lots of messages in the early days, but then it should be OK. (however, we'll definitly add the option to filter it out)
@all: thoses who have bad fair play values have lower priority in quickbattle. You may auto-challenge guild mates, you may challenge twice the same opponent but the amount of battles allowed between two players will be higher when using QB.
The pro-random - no-random discussion is endless, we have already been through this tens of times, all things were carefully balanced by the staff and decisions were made. With each new improvement the staff tries to improve the game experience for as many players as possible; of course there will always be complaints and you have to be sure that the staff makes everything possible to make this a fun game for all players.
Playing with random is a different playing style. The majority of players are casual players who play some battles each day, participate in a DT tournament etc. Many players don’t enjoy opening the battle screen and seeing they’ve already lost or having to calculate every single pill, if the game was fully no-random this would spoil the fun for the majority of players, many of whom don’t have the time to enter the forums to support their point of view. The DT players want a fast and fun game, not a “chess-like” game. For this we have the ELO non-random room and the Survivor room where players can take their time to calculate each pill and decide a strategy knowing that there isn’t a luck factor involved.
For all the time the T2 DT room was opened, I haven’t heard many complaints about the presence of the big “monsters” like DJ Korr, Guru etc. because the random factor ensures they are not overpowered and starting a game with them on the board doesn’t mean game won.
Now that we have a T2 Survivor room without random many players are complaining about these characters, even if many times they aren’t overpowered compared to more accessible cards.
Although I’m an experienced player and I enjoy the strategic long-term ELO tournament in a non-random room, many times I’m too busy too compete in a full ELO tournament or just not in the mood to calculate every single pill and it’s impact on the game.
Many of you will say to leave the current random-enabled rooms as they are and just make a new non-random room. But this would not ensure the equality of chances, 90% of the top would be made of players from the non-random room, simply because they can easily choose low lvl players and they have the time, energy, and mood to play the game chess-like. How would this affect the majority of players who enjoy a random enabled room? If I start a tournament and know I have absolutely no chance to place high I would feel obligated to play in the non-random room, or not play at all.
There are many sides of the issue and usually players complaining are not taking the time to consider all the points of view.
With all the different rooms that exist now, all players can find their place in the game and enjoy their favorite part in the time they choose to dedicate to this game.
There is no use in continuing this endless argument, so please keep the posts on-topic and help us with useful feed-back
You guys rock!
I think the new mode is great - adds another dimension to the game which is great.
As for the random factor and those that don't like it - I say get over yourself - random is a part of life. Sometimes the person with the gun wins, and sometimes the person with the knife wins! Sometimes it is sunny, sometimes raining!
A thought (or possible suggestion) for Survivor (from a person who doesnt have a huge or fantastic deck - and like to use Junta). I feel the long version of Survivor (the higher the steps) is deadly for the +dmg clans - as they typically have less power or attack. They thus have to concentrate on killing quick and fast and usually doing a KO. With extra life and less pills - this threat is much, much less. So a possible alteration could be starting survivor mode further in the opposite direction - more pills and less life (+14 pills and only 10 life).
Perhaps ridiculous - but would alter the strategy HUGELY - and make Sakrhom most popular early Survivor deck with Pussycats!
I love the new game mode. it really makes earning clintz a lot easier that DTs.
im one of the players who are pro-random. why? because i've experienced palying ELO during DT hours and personally, i got lower points in ELO no random during DT hours as compared to when i played matches in T1/T2 rooms during DT hours.
one explanation for this is that in no random, each calculation counts... this means that player take more time to think of the play... which means a LONGER time for the game to end. sure, it's easier to win a match in no random.. but you wont win dailies... "no random" is just too slow an environment to gain BPs. you dont believe me? try timing your matches in no random rooms against a good player (Try ELO). If the match lasts more than 3 mins, dont expect to get high in dailies...
so far, i have no complaints as to the way the admins manage things in UR. infact, i applaud them for all their efforts. they've made UR a better game even before i started playing it. mabuhay ang admins! (long live, admins!)
