First of all, i want to inform you that this threat is designed for those who want to START playing in the ELO mode. It includes some tips and explanations in order to help them develop a good play strategy and build a successful deck.
*NOTE* Read the game rules to learn about the ELO mode!!
1)Building your deck:
In the ELO mode there are 3 ways in which you can build your deck in order to be a good/successful one.
a)Mono-clan: This means that all the cards that you include in your deck are from the same clan.
PROS:-you have an 100% chance of activating the clan bonus
CONS:-in order for you to make a mono-clan you must include some cards/fillers that aren't really good (e.g. Montana: beside Prince Jr, you must include Filomena, a decent card, but not very good; Pussycats: you must include a good 3* card in your deck, and if you can't afford to keep Yayoi at 3* you must include Meg, Meg being a pretty bad card)
*NOTE* Rescue is the best clan to be used mono as its bonus is SUPPORT.
b)Half-deck: This means that you must choose 4 characters from 2 different clans and put them together in a deck
PROS:-unlike the ''mono-clan'' you can choose the best cards/fillers from the 2 clans
-you have 2 different bonuses which is, sometimes, useful
CONS: -you can sometimes draw one card from a clan and 3 from the other one, leaving you a bonus-less character
C) Leader deck: This means that you include a leader in your deck
PROS:-you gain the Leader's ability advantage, which is, sometimes, very helpful
CONS:-a leader is a 5* bonus-less character, meaning it's hard to fit him in an ELO deck and he doesn't get a bonus to help him out
*NOTE* Leaders work best with mono-clans as you have a 100% chance of activating a bonus
In each clan there are some cards that MUST be included in your deck if you want to use the specific clan at its full potential. These cards are usually expensive so I'll write down some decent replacements for those who can't afford the staples:
-Robb (Replacement: Kang)
-Striker (Replacement: Alexei)
-Graff and/or B Ball (this depends on users preference, but B Ball is way cheaper) (Replacement: Gyro)
-Blaaster (R: Platoona)
Fang Pi Clang: *NOTE* FPC is the most expensive clan to play at full potential since its staples are expensive CRs.
-Marlysa Cr (R: Windi Mor 2*)
-Kerozinn Cr (R: Hattori)
-Olga (R: Boris)
-Akendram (R: doesn't require one since he is cheap)
-Esmeralda (R: Graziella)
-Leviatonn (R: Luba)
-Z3r0 D34d (R: Ludmilla or Platinum)
-Methane or Toro (again, users preference) (R: Nina)
-Gil (R: Dash)
-Rowdy (R: Kawan)
-Bryan (R: Burger in a half-deck; Chiro in a mono-clan)
-Jane Ramba (R: Uxoh)
-Wardog (R: Dean)
-Prince Jr (R: like Akendram, he doesn't require one because he is a cheap character)
-Mona (R: Simon)
-Edd (R: Murphy)
-Sheitane and Hel (R: you can replace one of them with Eadh)
-Kolos (R: Nistarok)
-Hawkins (R: Spycee)
-Smokey (R: another 3* Piranas card)
-Wanda 1*/2* (R: Noon Steevens 1* for lvl 1; Feelyn or Ella for lvl 2)
-Yayoi (R: Baby Q)
-Lea (R: Larry)
-Elvira (R: none, since Elvira is the only SOA in Rescue)
-Steve (R: Slyde, however, it's one more star)
-Kerry (R: Ghoub)
-Miken Moose (R: Ben)
-Yookie (R: Noodile or Rico)
-Uranus (R: none, there's no point in playing Sakrohm w/o her)
-Petra (R: Trinmkkt)
-Lehane (R: Aurelia)
-Hawk (R: another 5* Sentinel)
-Samantha (R: as Akendram and Prince Jr, she doesn't require one because she is cheap)
-Rubie (R: Frankie Hi)
FINALLY! DONE WITH THAT PART...
This Is Good Guidence For Begginers In UR... Hope they Read This Especially With Rescue....
Rescue Is Meant For MONO- Which Means Only Rescue In Your Deck, If Rescue Has half Deck Theres No Meaning To It... Rescue Allways Help In DT's Even Though I dont Try them Much... But Good For Full Deck..
There are 3 important abilities! You must include at least of each for a successful ELO deck:
SOA (stop opp ability)==> stops annoying abilities like +/- pillz, +damage etc.
SOB (stop opp bonus)==> protects your bonus from SOB bonuses, stops the +/-attack, +/- power, +/- damage bonuses
DR (damage reducing)==>incredibly helpful!!!
These abilities can sometimes make the diffrence between winning and loosing1
4)Make a balanced deck
The best ELO decks are the balanced ones, meaning that they include cards with high power, cards with high damage and cards with nasty abilities.
E.g. La Junta/Roots combination: (La Junta has high damage cards, Roots have high powered cards, and they both share nasty abilities)
Bryan 4* --> high power, high damage (with bonus), SOA (one of the ''important abilities)
Jane Ramba 3*--> high power, high damage (with bonus), DR (another important ability)
Wardog 2* --> High power
Dean 2*--> Nasty ability (power reduction)
Yookie 3* --> High power, SOA, DR
Miken Moose 2*--> Nasty ability(+attack)
Ratanah 4*--> High power, nasty ability (-attack)
Shakra 5*--> High power, high damage and also a wall card (SOA+SOB) if used first.
Remember, if you don't have a good idea of a deck, consult the PP for some clues
Well, that's it, I hope you liked my guide that took me a lot of time to write and I hope it will help some people perform good in ELO. Credits: Diffract googled sites for inspiration!!
Very good guide here, well done!
Something I'd just want to fling in is that some clans are far more suited to half-decks rather than full-decks, Freaks being the main one. Their bonus isn't useful after their first victory, so they play much better if you have another clans bonus to fall back on for the closing rounds of a match.
Hope this gets stickied for you tc!
Something I would like to add... as new characters ome every now and then, the must-have list might change, I will post these changes when they occur in future posts (as for today, I find that just Shayna may replace Buck, however it is again users preferences)
-Yayoi (U) (R: Baby Q (R))
i know taking soa over sob is very common but some builds of decks have mostly problem against clans like rescue, montana, etc Taking Baby Q over Yayoi has won me more games than i lost already through that. I think it's good to know the stapple cards but i don't think you can say it's always the best way to play it as some decks sometimes can use a "worse" card much better than given in the list. Doesn't mean i agree with the list so far i know the clans good enough.
