I was just wonderfing if you know how to get big points in tournaments. When I play I might only lose 2-3 games in the hour but the top guys double my score. There is no way that I can win enough games to keep up with them and I find myself slotting in around the 100-200th mark rregardless on how well I play.
In short. How do you score the big points in tournaments? Star count? Pill usage? Remainng health? What? I'd love it if you could fil me in.
Lose 2 or 3 of how many games? If you're using slow-playing decks (heavy damage reduction, poison, lifegain) and only finishing 15 games ... well, you're not going to do well. Too players use different strategies, but most will finish 20 - 25 games per DT.
Breakpoint's blog is a good resource. You might also want to check out presets posted by players who frequently win daily tournaments. You'll see that they usually have a low total star count (20 - 23 in T1, 26 - 27 in T2) and that they sport low star cards capable of beating "big" cards for extra points. Use heavy hitters like Vickie or Tanaevera to rescue games you might lose, or move quickly through tough games that could eat up precious time. Don't use them against a player you can easily beat using lower star cards.
You get 2 points if you have 1 or more pills left over and you knock your opponent out.
The thing I want to know is how you get to the top of the DTs? I can usually get up over 250 points and crack the top 50, sometimes the top 25, but getting over the top is hard...
