Well... as it says above, I'm going to be a bit precautious with this game. I'm going to think about all my plans first, whether they change or not, and I'll try to start here.
Reading over a few threads, I've found that the Daily Tournaments are the way to go for stable Clintz, and I guess that's what I'll focus on at first. I've been thinking of a Sakrohm/Uppers deck to begin with. I understand that their cards would cost a lot (at least, from my perspective), and to prepare, I'll be sure to purchase several packs, or however many necessary for the job (though, in cases such as the millions, I definitely won't bother).
So... to begin with, I was thinking of a deck such as this:
- - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - -
And that comes out to a solid 26 star, Type 2 deck. Though, I'm not sure if it would work or not. I had been thinking of replacing Wakai with Na Boh, but that seems to leave a giant hole if I were to draw 3/4 Sakrohm cards in one hand. I had also been thinking of changing Wakai to Murray, but that would cost me an extra star, and I'm not sure if it would be worth it. Suggestions on changing this deck would be great; any criticism would be helpful too.
So, working with this deck, I would eventually purchase cards just made for ELO. My original plan had been an All Stars/Roots deck, but I'm not sure whether to use the All Stars, Nightmare, or Piranas now.
The uppers side is good as is IMO. Personally, I'd change Uranus to Murray. In DT, the idea is to win as many rounds as possible and Uranus is definitely not a strong attacker. If you want to keep Uranus, maybe a thought would be switching Wakai to Murray and dropping Petra or Graks to Corrina. She's got virtually 22 attack without spending a pill and is a strong DT card. Overall, it looks like a decent DT deck, though not something that will be consistently at the very top. For a starting DT deck it's very good
Alright. Thanks for the help, you three. I think I will be staying with the deck as it is, then.
Now... on to more serious matters; ELO. I had been originally wanting to make an All Stars/Roots deck, as I said before, and this is what the plan had been:
- - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - -
Though, I had always thought of instead having Ratanah in my deck... though, I'm not sure what to take out and replace. I could always get take out Rico and Yookie, put Ratanah in, and find another two star... but Ben and Arno are not really striking me as reliable. Does anyone else think they are? Or possibly, does someone have a completely different idea to improve this deck?
Still, I'm not sure whether All Stars/Roots is a wise choice. I've heard a lot about ELO, and it seems nothing is ever unbeatable... but I'm afraid that one may be more vulnerable than the other. I suppose the Stop Opponent's Ability clans are in the highest tier, but what comes after? I mean, it's a bit pointless to create something like a GHEIST/Roots deck, correct? So, with the apparent uprising of the All Stars and Sentinel (I'm not completely sure on this; I just lurked around the forums), I chose the All Stars. Though, again, I'm not completely sure if it had been a wise choice or not. If anyone could recommend a potentially stronger deck, I'd be happy to consider.
First suggestion would be to use Robb instead of Kang. Robb is much more useful being able to reduce big hitters that don't have SOA down to 2 power is HUGE. Even 8 power cards can be dropped to 3 power and that throws a big wrench in a lot of opponent decks.
It's usually best to have 2 different ELO decks, especially if you're using Roots, All Stars, Sentinels, and Piranas because these clans frequent the top 3 ELO spots and could be banned every other week. Roots have been banned every other week for quite some time, so to be able to play in ELO competitively each week, having 2 strong decks is a good idea.
For DTs: The deck kicks ass really, you will make many top100s and top20s, several top10s. But yo are not gonna win DTs untill you build a faster deck with Montanas instead of Shakrom (2 hit ko, 2 hit ko, 2 hit ko).
For ELO: Kang solves problems if you feel endplayed, I mean, if opponent has SOA, Kang is a much better card to lead away than robb. If the oppoennt is on lead Robb is better though.
Ratanah is a wonderful card, Shakra is not. Arno is also way better than miken moose for damage control.
For Type 2 DT's, you can do just fine with a deck with more than 26* (and you can build a 26* deck that is still bad at DTs!). The key to gaining a lot of points is having 2* and 3* cards that can win over 5* cards and not using too many 4* and if possible no 5* cards. That is one of the reasons Zatman, Mona, and Jackie are used so heavily in DTs.
I'd go ahead and use Murray instead of Wakai. You could also try Stanford, I find he works great in Type 2.
