Losing ground in the war of the clans, the GHEIST need to strike hard and fast if they’re to maintain any hope of one day ruling the city. And to do that, they haven’t given a second thought to releasing their new and particularly bloodthirsty creature, Anibal, onto the city’s streets. Meanwhile the Piranas welcome Kristin, the Ulu Watu present George and Junkz launch Archie. The new term’s really starting to hot up! Get these characters in the shop’s New Blood, Danger and Cool Attitude packs.
Maybe, just maybe, the UR staff is going to unban Wee Lee?! Then Ulu Watu would be viable again in ELO, even with pretty mediocre support cards.
I agree that Kristin is the best of the new releases, even with a confidence-based ability (really, just win with either smokey or Dhalia, then you have a great counter with decent damage potential, and 7 power puts her right up there with the all-stops).
I do think that people are being too hard on Archie. C'mon, give the old guy a break! I think a +8 is definitely worth protecting in a 3*. It keeps him competitive against Lehane or Lea (though he'll still need an extra pill), he will be great against piranhas and nightmare, and he helps control the opponents play which is VERY useful. When you can decide the match-ups you have a much better chance of winning. Just think, people will be less likely to lead with Lehane (or Lea, Samantha, Gibson, etc. all good openers) with no pillz knowing her ability may be nullified, so they lead with either a sacrifice or a heavy-hitter and lots of pillz, which you can counter, then come back with Archie, again keeping those card at bay until later rounds when pillz are depleted and easier to calculate. Basically, Archie isn't great by himself, but he really can help strategy.
From what I've heard, everyone's saying Anibal is pretty much the best card art ever, and I would be inclined to agree. I want more like him
And Wildfire, not every clan can be good at everything, or the game will become boring. Ulu are generally a supporter clan, and don't hold their own very well as mono. The good choice of 3*s helps them perform their role as a secondary clan, while you can focus on high star cards from others for the other half of your deck.
@ monsterlord : but it's kinda unfair on the part that other clans are getting nice and awesome recruits (addition of Chan, Nakata and Fei made FPC very playable, Anibal's addition gave Gheist another powerful 4*, Kristin made Piranas harder to push off, Archie made Junkz strategic, Oren made Freaks a good mindgame clan, Donnie made Montana more annoying, Noemi made Pussycats playable again, Archibald made Junta more flexible, Sledg made up for the departure of Alec, and Pegh gave Jungo an awesome damage reducer apart from Niva.). so i think Ulu Watu should get at least one awesome recruit. they're being hard on that clan.
Poison revenge or cofidence is just stupid (no ofence)! poison is to be played first turn (mostly) so it has to poison with no conditions! Besides poison isn't the best thing there is so i really don't get why do you want it so much!
Thylus: Archie is something new that can be used just like Geirge, it didn't brought anithing new to the clan! That doesn't mean ulu watu don't need some love! they could use some really nice 2*!
Poison just meshes with the staple cards of the Sakrohm clan. While a confidence poison card might be stupid, revenge poison is definitely not. Thoough the revenge tag is a hinderance, solid 7/4 stats would make up for it and make for a Sakrohm card that is not completely shut down by SOA. Splosh is a good 6/7 against SOA but cannot support a clan. If you had a revenge poison card in your hand and had to go first and played Murray that round it would make your opponent guess if you were bluffing or not. You would easily be able to get a free 5 life difference with this card's threat. While the card I mentioned might be no lehane it would still be a great SOA resistant and bluff card in the clan. Plus a possible 8 damage for a 3* is not shabby.
