I was thinking,
fan fic scripts are becoming a big hit in UR
and this is only a suggestion,
but would you be able to create a new topic for Fanfic fans & creators,
Because it is quite hard to put a script up in like..
Events etc etc,
Because lately it seems to be taking up all of the topics :S
Remember this is a suggestion,
Please dont kill me
If UR placed a filter in its message checking then they could cut down mod strain by 50% im sure.
Any messages that had a swear word in it would immediatly be deleted and not allowed on the boards..
And if people persisted in trying to swear on the boards then you have the option of blacklisting them (or banning them, or whatever mods call it these days! ^.^).
And comments could also be "flagged" like on youtube where a mod would ONLY have to worry about flagged comments and fixing those..
Then again maybe I am wrong and thats not how they do it.. Hmm, I honestly never looked into what a mod does or who really approves messages, I just assumed..
I have to say this must be at least +13 but I agree. I have more then a few suggestions to help improve player friendly posting, not the least of which is a general forum.
On the mod issue, mods arn't payed, and training can't possibly be more then 20 minutes(if it is theres alot more to it then there needs to be), a bot could suffice easily in their place but even without bots, mods are players who care enough to help out, and there is never a shortage of those.
Although on the other side, since we're limited to 1500 characters fan fics would have to be really short, perhaps a public blog site would suffice and just link to it from a general sticky? Since it's outside UR control you wouldn't need mods and you wouldn't have to worry about censoring anything as a simple warning could be posted before any links were given. Hence blame lies outside UR ^.~
On a totally seperate issue from that, general forums don't need to be strictly regulated, technically speaking as long as people play nice and don't use "naughty words" anything goes. Hence a bot to filter out obnoxious statements like xxxx must [bad verb, etc.] or a certain card is [some totally different bad word?] things would go along smoothly.
With said things in mind I think a celebration for a new forum would be a great idea. Maybe another player run lotto or even a contest wouldn't hurt. Perhaps the person with the best general forum joke wins a rare?
Currently, adding a new forum topic under the message board is not in the top priorities but it's under discussion.
