I'm not sure if this has been asked somewhere...
How random is Random? There are certain nationalities that I simply do not win against in a random round. I don't have enough evidence to normalize the data but in safely over 5,000 rounds fought so far I have encountered one nationality over 500 of those rounds and HAVE NEVER WON a random roll, ie if I haven't overpilled enough to double their attack in the round it's a guaranteed loss. The odds of flipping heads that many times in a row a whopping 0.5^500!!! Could I just be "lucky" in this one instance of chance??
No, that's just bad luck. Your ping and IP address don't affect random. It's all probability.
Say you have 40 attack and your opponent has 50 attack.
You have 40/90 chance of winning (44.4%) and your opponent has a 50/90 chance of winning (55.5%). Whoever has more attack has a greater than 50% probability of winning the round, but it's not a certainty. It's why it's called random.
For example, when I use to play random DT's, I won a round where I had 30 attack and my opponent had 59 attack. As it's not double the attack (a sure shot), I had a 30/89 chance of winning (33.7%) and I did win. It's not out of the realm of possibility for you to lose/win any random round assuming there's no sure shot. It's most likely that in my example the player with 59 attack would beat the player with 30 attack, but it's not definite.
That's what I figured it was but there are still a couple opponents of said nationality that play just enough pills to have just over 50% of my final attack on my last round when they could have at least matched my power. Three times and three losses on my part in the last hour. That's the only reason I brought it up. On the plus side, in about 50 additional rounds against the killer nationals, of which I've cut the random element out against these types down to about a dozen, I picked up one round win.
Random still seems to work normally otherwise and I would never give up the element of chance whether I benefit or it kills me in this game!
