A large number of you turned out to vote for Miss Clint City 2010 and you chose the ultra sexy All Stars representative, who finished ahead of Tula and Lucia. So, another big well done to Miss Jessie and thank you all for taking part.
To celebrate her victory, we’ve created a Miss Jessie card that is now available in the shop’s packs.
@Dweezil i get your point but ur is a game and it's a trading card game, stragedy game and it can improve someone's math ability ( it might you never know) so just enjoy playing the game. i don't really care if the women are half naked as alot of people said it is just a game, the artwork is still good but i'm not a perv and fantasise about it and nobody is forcing you to either i just enjoy the game and the social side of ur
The world as a whole seems to be on a bit of a PC kick these days. Some might say that's a good thing, but I don't agree for two main reasons.
The first is honesty. I'd rather someone say what they honestly felt to my face then have them lie and say whatever's PC while thinking the total opposite. And saying whatever they want behind my back.
Second is that the life ain't some great big school. The world's tough, and there will be plenty of people who will just crush you just cause they can. All this PC crap may be fine if there's someone you're going to run and cry to about such and such being mean and unfair. But there's not always going to be such around. People, young and old, would be better served learning to toughen up a bit. Get thicker skin and learn to not let what someone else says or does to effect them too much. Worry about how you behave rather than how everyone else behaves. Else you're just going to be in for a lot of stress in life.
And miss jessie being bad for women's rights? I guess you don't go to the beach much? Or the pool? And shouldn't you be more concerned about gangbangers and the mafia being represented as accepted and respected members of society? Or that as a whole the game encourages people to join a faction and then fight other people to take over the city? Or is a woman in a bikini more of a crime then street violence?
This is a game, just chill out and play it for fun. No need to turn it into some sermon about real world values.
What I'm saying is that this is a game. People shouldn't be getting so worked up about things. You play UR for fun, not use it as a guide as to how to live life. You don't treat women as objects just cause a few cards are in bikini's anymore than you go out and get into street fights just cause UR says so.
Also, UR doesn't just have either just ugly old hags or nude/bikini babes. There are plenty like shann, mona, gatline that are pefectly fine.
" My point is more so that there is no diversity in this game. As I said before, UR is for the most part at two extremes. Advertisements and porn have (I would like to think) different goals then UR. Comparing UR to an advertisement at say, Victoria’s Secret, is just a tad ignorant."
I think there is plenty of diversity. I don't share your view that the cards are all scantily clad, nor do i think they are 'whorish'. They are just cartoons. Frankly, you finding them in any way alluring is worrying considering that they're drawings, and not even particularly realistic ones!
I didn't mention Victoria's secret, I'm unsure why you bring that up other than you seem quite focused on talking about scantily clad women and porn? Any advert is airbrushed these days, be it for lingerie or make-up or cleaning products! Please do not imply I am ignorant because I disagree with where your angst regarding how and where the female form is portrayed is aimed!
All I see from your posts is an immature boy who is rather too preoccupied with discussing the female body. I'm a woman, if I am not offended or shocked and disgusted by the card art, I see absolutley no reason why you should be and I echo the statements made by others that why are you playing a game which clearly offends you? There are other TCG's you could play with art that would not offend your rather repressed sensibilities, I'm sure.
I'm PM-ing the people who are attacking my point of view (is that better than the word "opponents" Back2Basics?) directly. People seem to think I myself am offended by scantily clad women. Not at all! As a straight male, I am irreversibly geared to love scantily clad women. I neither find myself repulsed, nor attracted to any UR characters. Hentai isn't my thing. I'm offended by the way UR handles women in the chauvinist and objectified manner that it does. Questions? Complaints? Concerns? PM me directly
