I don't know how, but I suddenly went from 1120 elo to 1040? Well, maybe not that suddenly, because I played a DM match inbetween the two elo matches. Perhaps because I left the DM room after only playing 1 match?

Unless you only plan to get 1100 or less for the first 2 days of elo don't play. Since it's early in the week you only need a few good matches and you can get in the top 100. From then on you will have to play a set ammount of matches daily and you will soon be facing very hard opponents! If you don't play these matches your elo score will drop drastically so it's risky business even if you somehow manage to stay strong after the first few days the opponents will get tougher and tougher and you must play lots of matches so the best way to score big is to wait a few days. For those first 2 days I would not go past 1100 because then your at risk of getting a high score and having to play more regularly which puts pressure.
