There are over 70 banned characters in elo. The staff bans have gotten out of hand. The number of permanently banned characters should never have exceeded 50. I propose the following change.
Staff remove at least 20 characters from the permanent ban list and introduce a monthly ban election for the players that operates similarly to the weekly election.

Of all the 76 permanent bans 65+ of them are legitimate bans. The other few bans can be debated upon and are occasionally unbanned at the cost of other bans by the staff.
Also there is no such rule which would imply "The number of permanently banned characters should never have exceeded 50."
UR staff releases 4 new cards every fortnight. So the number of permanent bans are bound to increase anyways.

Alot of the permanent ban cards should never been published and it would dramaticaly reduce the meta !

Not all cards are created for ELO. You could say Noctezuma never should be published but Huracan not only have to compete in ELO with the new clans but also in T2

Ok new rule each day the 50 most powerful cards that LoA helljay owns will be banned for that day. That sounds fair, that way only 50 cards are banned in ELO

Bans happen for many reasons.
as a generalization we can probably say it is one or a combination of the following reasons:
1)card is simply too powerful for the star count - DJ Korr Cr, Jackie Cr, undeveloped pussycats
2)card reduces the game to a guessing game unless the opponent happens to have counter cards - Kolos, Sylth Cr, pill manip cards
3)card is reasonable but in a clan that would otherwise be too good - Arno, Gertjan, Elvira, Lea
bans will continue. and i expect more bans to happen due to reason #3 as more cards are created
