I'd actually go so far to say that a large portion of overall UR gameplay is basically just farming credits. If the NB missions didn't give out credits, demand for newbloods would be non-existant (you really have to be a moron to buy them for the first week prices for any other reason, pardon me saying but there is 0 sensible reason to do so). Having spun a few rounds off tapjoy credits (reached lvl 6 or 7 twice), I have to say that it doesn't seem to be worth 8 credits.
The pool is way more interesting and less nukey this time around which, unless someone savvier than me breaks it, means getting a perfect score is much harder (I guess, but I never got it last time around either, even if I did get 10, 11 and 12 fairly often). So even if the new Nanook Rb was worth chasing it's probably rather difficult to get. But she isn't because if she's ever in a booster, spending credits on boosters is a way better gamble. If she's ever in NB, especially mostly the current NB, trying to get her via LW is pure foolishness. No two ways about that.
Having credits as an entry fee is ok safeguard against cheating, and paradoxically it makes it easier for newbies to join because you can buy 2 rides for a dollar if you really want to, and you can't make 2000 clintz in a blink (not to mention that it was easy to bankrupt yourself last time around, and it's hard to make money if you don't have any money).
However, a ride on LW isn't worth 8 credits. In fact it's not worth any credits at all. A big, probably the biggest reason it was so popular last time, even with the really unbalanced pool and worse leaders and all that was because it let you change money into credits. The ludicrous (by usual standards) rewards were the biggest UR have ever seen in terms of easy credits and that's why it was played as much. That was the essence of it's popularity, it was pretty much giving away free money.
If it's not giving away free money, it's not worth it. That's a very "self-entitled" thing to say, but really, it it's not. The fact that you could enter, get your money back and earn credits was why people played it so much, the mode itself was actually fairly irrelevant (people would play 8 timber vs 8 timber for free cash - they already grind inane missions and set their clocks by tourney hours just so they can log in and play a few games for that measly one free credit).
So while the devs thought they gave us a cool new mode last time around, what they gave us was the closest thing UR ever had to a "going infinite" method. You can't even make up your entry this time around. I'm not sure this will work out.
And, well, there we go. I don't have enough credits for another ride (6 wins only). Now I'm considering buying 20, but... Serra M1! Xingshu! Rahi Sledon! DJ Korps Cr! Beck - Nena! Bunches of other stuff! Friday in 2 days and if I score newbloods, getting missions done before other people and staying pretty high on the mision list.
Compared to... not much, realisticaly.
If this was previous season most of these runs wouldn't have cost me anything, and I'd be playing this 24/7, mostly just breaking even or even losing money, but having a lot of fun. Oh, well, was fun while it lasted, waiting for next season.
I guess other people don't have issues with this, but when I *consistently* find myself down 3 stars to my opponent (60-75% of the time), LW just makes me even more upset. I realize it's nice to have some wiggle room, but I didn't get to choose my deck - not really. If they fixed it so I was never more than, say, 1 star under my opponent, I would far less upset with this mode, as I would feel it was my skill hurting me, and not the fact my opponent has Leader-543 and I'm Leader-432. =/
First of all, a shout out for moderators with courage like wasteroftime and UM_AaaBattery is in order! Thanks for your unbiased opinions and hints!
And why not, thanks for UR allowing free expression in this forum (some other staffs should learn about it with you...Hello PT STAFF!! )
Second, guys like DecklandPT, von Mackensen and wasteroftime said it all!
And as fas as all of this went, the real problem is security and fairness!! CHEATING IS THE PROBLEM!!! If you cheat you have more credits, more, money, better cards and yoyur hand all over the market...
Don't give me the "having credits as fee is a better way to stop cheating" line, or do not come talking about ads that give you credits...good for you!!!
Finally, I AM SICK of passive agresssive american bimbos which think they know and own it all!!! Stop being so full of yourselves, calling everyone else "welfare citizens"!?!?!?!?!?!?! WTF!!!! What's your problem!?!? Are you that rich?? WHO THE HELL ARE YOU ANYWAY, PARIS "FUDGING" HILTON?!?!??! That kind of tantrum childplay sicknes me!! Really! And then you go around trying to shove you "point of view" down everybody throats!! please!!
Didn't you realize you were pretty much alone in that??!? Didn't get the large picture? Read some good comments like Dragon1der (132), Hoa-Crimes (135), Xonia_Loa (136), UM_AaaBattery (138/9 and wasteroftime that follows)...some of them are even moderators!!
Take your head out of your (you didn't even get the Charlie reference...GOD!!! you really live in your little fantasy island in that corner of earth, don't you?? Surronded byt all that money!! Good for you!), it is strating to stink!!
Was that a grammar clear enough?!?

I don´t mind paying credits for playing LW but 8 Credits are clearly to much imo. Depending on how much you value a credit you get your investment back at Stage 10 to 12 which a lot of players won´t reach
Yes credits are easy made in DT or with New Blood missions that doesn´t mean that there aren´t better ways of spending them.
The current price structure is fucked up. The majority of people aren´t going to get their investment back and once they realize they don´t have a chance to get the big price they will stop playing the mode with only leaves the better players in the mode.
I would suggest lowering the price of LW to 2 or 3 credits per round and maybe lower the prices a little bit more. With a lower cost more people would play the mode imo.
