EDIT: A little more information:
To get Solomon, you need to complete his set of missions, which can be found here:
There is no time limit for the missions, and yes, the final mission can be done in any instance of Leader Wars.
Solomon's ability, Tie Break, will ensure that you win any round in which attack is tied (regardless of Courage or star count,) and win the game if the number of lives is tied at the end of it.

@Wasteroftime: It may be a little different for different players, everybody has a different approach to deck building and some people are more intuitive than others. But, just from a pure design point of view, ELO vs LW:
ELO deckbuilding questions:
-Mono clan, mono with splash, dual clan?
-Which clan(s) should I use?
-Which cards, out of the clan(s) I've chosen, will I build my deck around?
-Which cards, out of the clan(s) I've chosen, have good synergy with my core cards?
-Will the cards I want hold up well against the typical deck builds found in ELO?
-Will the cards I want hold up well against what I can expect to see this week, based on what's banned/unbanned?
LW deckbuilding questions:
-Which Leader or Leaders do I want to consider using?
-Which card, out of the three or four available choices, will work best with my Leader and the other cards I've picked so far?
The choice in LW is most often pretty clear. At least for some of your picks, many of your card options are weaker than others and the strongest one stands out. That means that you have an easier set of decisions ahead of you when trying to build an LW deck.
Incidentally, I agree that ELO was more interesting with a smaller card pool several years ago.
Yeah ghelas, the 4th leader mission is having a bit of weird consequences. People are purposely abandoning games (3 of the last 7 games I played had people ditch for no reason) in an attempt to, from my understanding, have a lower ELO score and therfore be paired up with "easier" opponents. That isn't to say everyone's doing this (my elo score is at 940 right now because I just suck at the mode in general), but it is starting to make the mode pretty hairpulling/unbearable for people who actually want to play.
But you forgot this one
oh jeeeezus i have to think???? no preset to copy or see what others are running so i can counter
it rewards those who have the skill and the best understanding of the card pool you give them to use.
Yeah waster, that isn't what's killing this whole leader thing for me (mind you, scoring all of ZERO k/os and only winning 4 of my last 30 elo matches is helping). For me, not being able to do the missions in any order I want is the more annoying issue, as it's basically forcing my hand into doing the more hairpulling task first (playing ELO) before I can even try out what could be an easier leader wars one. The sad part about it is that I don't even want the cash out of it. I just want to be able to try out the card before I see it roaming around in everyone else's deck.
