Good luck and happy gaming to all.
Time to re-post my idea for allowing old artwork to be changed to new artwork whilst stopping the market for changing too much, which is making old cards which only new players might use get expansive, whilst also allowing people to keep the old artwork incase they like it.
When an rb is released then the original copy of the card becomes untradeable and the Rb version replaces the old version in packs, as prizes e.c.t (the old version is still usable unless UR decide to make all the original cards unusable in the new version of UR). Everyone who owns the card already gets a button or something to press which gives them one copy of the rb version of the card, this can be done for each copy of the card they own but only once per copy.
Also everyone who gets the Rb version in the future will have a button to press which gives them 1 copy of the untradeable original version.
The rb of the card will be treated in exactly the same way as the original card e.g its in packs and rewarded as from missions, duel e.c.t like the original and if crs ever get rbs the rb of the cr will not be available in packs but as rewards for ELO and tokens e.c.t
as an extra bit which I think would be helpful the rb cad will take the name of the classic card, without the rb and the original will have classic written under the name in smaller writing.
Yeah waster, you gotta read through the lines on this one. With RB's, the admins can theoretically make more money off of packs as now there are "new cards" in packs once every week as opposed to once every two weeks. It may not benefit that many people by doing so (the only people benefitting off of this clearly being themselves and the greedy d-bags who bought hundreds of copies of old cards), but nonetheless their intentions so far on RBs have been obscenely obvious.
and i completely agree...
what i think UR will deny is that their intentions are not what we see them as...
and then a few weeks/months from now they will scratch their heads again as to why there is hostility/anger over some decision of theirs.
totally with you on this
hey UR when 2 mods, especially one who has historically always supported you guys and consistently offers you guys the benefit of a doubt, are telling you to rethink your actions --- maybe it is time to listen
@battery "Also everyone who gets the Rb version in the future will have a button to press which gives them 1 copy of the untradeable original version. "
Let me get this straight, are you saying that for getting an Rb in a pack we get the option to get the original card? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of making it discontinued? I do understand that the cr's are given through tokenz as potential rewards making them in a sense still in "circulation". Not sure if this would be great to do for Rb's assuming that is what you meant. I do like the way Rb's are being distributed. I have yet to dislike how they distribute the Rb's but thanks for sharing your opinion.
the issue people are having is not about the Rb
the issue is what is the status of the old versions of the Rb
so far the only justification we have gotten is that Rbs are needed in order to update old card art into a future format that will not work with the old art
so slowly UR is updating the art and releasing them in packs to boost sales
while they are doing this -- -they are currently leaving the old versions in limbo
and their current reasoning would mean that hundreds of cards are potentially going to get the Rb treatment --- more pack sales
meanwhile, players are actually able to see a number of better solutions that actually fixes what UR wants to fix... if that is truly their intention.... and the longer they prolong this Rbing of cards... the more obvious that this Rb fiasco was a half brained effort to initially create rare cards people would spend money in LW to win, to a more simple model of shoving it in packs and let people spend money on it.
so many better solutions have been proposed. yet here we are
hmm, I see what you are saying. I guess in a way the inevitable will be all cards( not including crs and leaders i hope) will become rbs, if the art work is not in par or before they turn into crs. In a way the prices of those cards to go up but anyone can buy multiple copies and save them until they become Rb's. That does affect the economy greatly. Hmm these ideas are starting to sway my opinion slightly. Thanks for clearing that out. XD
I've posted my comment under Malmoth Rb already, but I would at least like to make a suggestion about the direction of the Rb art.
Please allow and encourage the artists to take the cards in a new direction, artistically. If the card is new, but has essentially the exact same art as the "classic version"... why would I desire to collect the "new art"? If the art were different, though, then I would be far more likely to desire owning both cards.
Malmoth Rb is a perfect example. Phalloide is a great artist, but I'm assuming you asked him/her to copy the old card style. Phalloide did so good that even though I want every single card at every level (because I love the art), I don't care in the least about the new Malmoth Rb card. The art is basically just a slightly different, cleaner style, with the exact same content.
The ONLY difference you claim the Rbs have is the artwork, but if the artwork actually isn't THAT different, then there actually is NO difference.
Please, pretty please, let and encourage artists to take the new Rb cards in a different direction. Then more people will want the card, and the card characters will have "more depth" as we see more artwork of them doing different things.
