While a mysterious little figure has been spotted flying above Clint City, something even more bizarre is happening at Clint City Harbor. Many of the ships appear to have spontaneously caught fire, and some frightening power is preventing the rest from setting sail! But the inhabitants of the city, blissfully unaware, are contemplating something else. Should they go to Greow's latest wild concert, or to see the premiere of Sabrina's new movie? Both events are going to be unforgettable!
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Violet, the young Riots inventor!
Cindy, the Jungo drummer, has joined Greow and Nahema's band!
Jasmine, the mysterious fire Ifrit, seems to have become a part of the Piranas crew!
Sabrina, the actress from Poldachia-Golgovine, is presenting her movie at every Uppers-owned movie theater in town!

"The forums are a place for everyone to voice their own opinion, right? They are also a place for my to voice mine, too. No? Am I no longer allowed to disagree as a Mod, or try to figure out if I'm wrong, too? I feel you misunderstand the Mod role -- I have no more say in the game's direction than you."
Again, a straw man argument. Yes, the forums are a place for everyone. I never said they weren't or tried to deny you your opinion, but you accuse me of doing so. All I did was elaborate on how I perceive protection/cancel should work. I never said you couldn't disagree with me as a mod, whose role I understand just fine. Its clearly defined in two lines on the moderator tab.
"passive-agressive-ly calling me out" My last sentences focusing on your behavior was quiet direct, and deservedly so. I guess I should expect a higher quality response in this next message from you, but nope.
You say you want constructive debates, but you are doing nothing but trying to refute me, and dissolve the situation into a "I'm right, you're wrong" scenario. "Your argument for Protection (Ability/Bonus) hold no ground since Cancel isn't targeting an Ability or Bonus specifically". Right away you say my opinion is invalid.
"your issue is with word choice" No. Not at all. This is why I posted the dictionary definition and how I relate it to the game. Protection: Ability: To keep the ability from being lost. (stopped, cancelled, deactivated, etc) Dissolved would be included in the etc. My issue is that the ability is lost.
2. Yeah, its true its an evolving game. I don't know why this one is the sole change that I hate. Cancel seems so forced in without consideration of another (somewhat) minor skill already in the game, which could have easily been accounted for. Maybe a very little bit because cancel invalidates both a cards ability and bonus. It can effectively be an all stop + retain an ability/bonus of its own. (Violet vs Hemdal) However, Mrmeanders post makes a lot of sense to me in that regard, power relation in the game.
3. "It still does Protect. The definition of Protect doesn't say *how much* does it?" "To keep an ability from being lost". When the Skeelz (for ex) says Bonus: Ability Protection. To me it implies it will keep the ability protected fully. As I've said, "I would prefer to see the mechanic changed to work as stated, or the name should be changed to "Protection: Stop Opp. Ability" and "Protection: Stop Opp. Bonus"
I'm done talking with you Xonia. I'm just having to repeat myself because you don't actually listen, just try to disprove.
Yes Ghelas, I'm leaving the subject alone.
The game is very clear about how it works, which I agree, is the most important aspect. The rules are straightforward when it comes to using cancel/protection in game, so the game remains fun and easily comprehended.
Also, A fun thing to note: Cancel Opp. Life Manipulation doesn't cancel activation of poison/heal (Though it can stop it fro working on one of the turns post activation) but it does cancel activation on toxin/regeneration,which I think is neat. Kind of keeps older abilities relevant, and as I said before, adds another layer strategically.
