Hello Urban Rivals players,
In order to create a more precisely balanced metagame in ELO mode, from now on, we are going to change the ELO ban list every month.
The changes listed below will be implemented immediately. However, we encourage you to write your comments and suggestions about them in this topic. The ban list for next month will be heavily influenced by player input from this topic. This method of refining the ban list will continue on a monthly basis.
Added to the Ban List:
Removed from the Ban List:
We want to remind you that, in exceptional cases of very powerful cards, we can add that card to the ELO ban list at any time.

I don't mean to crowd the board, but here is some wisdom for the confused
Quibik isn't necessary at all, and he crowds out the 4* spot, his utility is too high.
Lola and cyb promote 50 50s. Lola isn't that bad, admittedly, but I don't mind seeing her go really.
Dolly Is too strong with djengo and the new 2 star poison
Tuck is too strong, always has been. Culrix is slightly too strong, since he blocks what roots have trouble with too well. He also completely crowds out the roots reprisal slot. Noodle yookie Rico Mildred or Marcus are a great half, you can even use willow.
Jean is insanely powerful, as is pegh. 8 1 damage immune soa, in a clan that wins by creating large gaps with relative ease. He's too good defensively and offensively.
Great work ur, I'm proud. Looks like a great ban list. I really hope the unban list gets changed, however.
Lear bearduh is a 50 50 card, which can be used vs soa. Petra literally replaces.
Bryan doesn't crowd out the 4* spot, because soa on a gap clan isn't nearly as strong as a attack mod clan. With soa, Brian gets an easier 2hko. With soa, Quibik can win the fight easier. There's a big difference. And 2hko aren't a problem in elo, and actually are kind of fun, since they only work vs certain circumstances.
By that logic, Raeth of the Piranas should also be banned. Tuck is 7/5 -8 Opp Attack Min 8, SOA. Raeth is 7/5 -8 Opp Attack Min 7, SOB. Raeth is honestly better. Only difference is, Raeth is in a clan where there are many good options to keep the Piranas afloat in ELO. Take out Tuck and Curlix from Roots, and they have practically nothing to remain competitive in ELO.
While we're making bans hardly anyone seems to agree with, can we toss Mac Hen and Candy Jack onto the list aswell? Mostly because they somewhat encourage going for KO in elo which goes against the very foundation of forfeiting when you know you've lost.
Well, well, a lot of reactions today.
I'll try to explain what we wanted to do this rotation.
Unfortunately, the diversity in this game mode changes very slowly. If we ban only the “overpowered” cards, the meta does not change. Roots are present a lot since 9 years, almost the same for pussycats ... and recently, Frozn and Freaks (with Freaks being among the most played clans for 8 months).
We sincerely believe that by enabling dynamic bans, aka every month, we could change the metagame and so to offer something different every time. A metagame that is not reflected by the same gameplay, the same way of playing. The same number of rounds to win to get a win, etc, etc ...
A card like Caelus cr, very powerful indeed, has pros and cons that you can try to exploit.
Indeed, these returns could possibly establish a meta around some cards. Indeed, some characters were banned, not because they are too strong, but because of departures and returns of other characters, they may become overpowered. For example, like Striker. Probably, this week already, very big scores will be achieved through these cards for those who find the best decks (and will exploit them to their full potential). In two weeks, and for the last two weeks, you should have a more stable format and nicer than what you had before.
So there are two types of bans (in the list):
Banned for a long time (as Tormentah or Antoinette ...)
and situational banned cards (because in their clan was / would be too much).
The ban of certain characters NB (Antoinette, Tormentah): If a character is too strong, we will ban him, whether or not new blood. To create such powerful characters is to give keys to the clans concerned for possible type 1 or similar formats.
Non-ban Rex Sweig: The Raptors have a low playrate. When Rex Sweig is banned, the clan is the least played of the game by Elo. When it is allowed, it is around the least 5 clans played of the game. We don’t think it’s ban is necessary.
According to the other cards (excluding returns), there are a lot of conflicting advices, then I would let you discuss those cards yourself.
In a month, we should have a different metagame with for once more returns, and some cards still banned.
So yes, there are characters stronger than others, but it is also the objective of making these dynamic bans. To you to either play them or counter them. But rest assured, they will not stay long.
If this idea does not convince you, then we will return in few months to the traditional system, that tries to balance the clans avoiding them to be abused, banishing the characters beyond a certain power level. This though, has the issue of constantly having the same decks over and over in room.
We did not want to create the best ban list possible, but just to add a bit of diversify in the game. With a monthly ban list, and your votes every week, we are sure we won’t have problems with this.
This is a test.
PS: The mode with points, proposed to you in the last survey, is currently still under development. You can follow some matches played using it in the Community Cup 2016 event, that is taking place right now.
