Hello Clint City,
Today is an important day for us as we can finally reveal to you what we have been so hard at work on for the past few months.
So, without further ado, please see below for a description of just what this game update has to offer:
- New avatars linked to your skinbox website.
- A new market page that you can access by clicking on your Clintz/credits total.
- New graphics when opening packs of cards, Clintz and Collectors.
- A new deck builder that offers the possibility of creating a deck from scratch and being able to manage it more easily.
- A guild chat.
- Fully revised fighting graphics: everything will now be on the same scene to increase speed.
- During combat, there will be chat emoticons that can be easily accessed by clicking on our avatar.
- The Divinity+ rankings have an additional special smiley.
- A new ELO, christened the EFC (ELO Fighting Championship), which will be the new league system*.
Of course, there has been a testing, debugging and completion phase. This version will also be the new WebGL version that will replace its now obsolete predecessor in Flash.
It will remain in Beta for the time being as we continue to improve upon it week by week.
We are also going to be present on the Facebook GameRoom and will be back on the Kongregate website before long.
The old site will be permanently closed down. And since the new game mode and version of WebGL are not compatible with the old website, we will no longer be maintaining this now obsolete site.
We hope all these changes will breathe new life into the game and will fire you up to achieve your best scores ever!
Oh, and don’t forget that today’s the day the Queen Mother is due to emerge from her spacecraft...
Happy gaming to you all and enjoy the start of the new EFC season!!
You have the ranking box on the home screen.
And your missions are in game/missions...
The real big problem is that people were used to something we changed. No matter how we do it, people complain when it changes. And they dont want to explore or trying to understand how the new one works.
The problem is you've not improved it. Before everything was on the same screen. Now it isn't. In tournament mode people don't want to be switching tabs or screens to check how they're doing, there's no time if you're aiming for top 10. It all needs to be as compact & streamlined as possible.
The actual client is an improvement over the flash version (or will be once the bugs are worked out) however it's not as user friendly. I know everybody hates change (I've been here since September 2009, so I've seen a lot) but if it improves the game and/or user experience then eventually people accept the idea because it helps streamline their experience.
Imagine if the new client was what we had already. Now imagine the 'upgrade' was to the flash client. People would think it's an improvement having all of their mission information & tournament information on one screen.
Removing the old flash client has made more work for the user (no matter how trivial that may seem.).
This isn't a moan or rant, just a suggestion to try & implement the old features/layout into the new client if possible.
Speaking as someone who thinks they understand how the new UI works for the missions.
The mission page on the website is really good, in my opinion. It looks clean, it's easy to navigate, it's convenient how the missions with expiry dates are highlighted on the top of the page. What's keeping it from being great is the timers for the flash/Ld missions being misleading on all timezones except GMT +1; and what's keeping it from being fantastic is all the flash missions being under the same timer regardless of when they actually expire (like the current LD missions, there are three separate deadlines, but only the closest one is being timed to without any clear indication of which one is the first to expire.)
The same page in-app/in-game client works. Of course some limitations are to be expected for being designed around tap-based interfaces, but it gets the job done if you know what you're looking for.
The problem lies in the fight screen - we went from immediate feedback on progressing in a mission to maybe one bit of feedback if you step into the lobby between each fight. No matter how you look at it, that aspect is less convenient now than it was in the 3.X builds, and that is what most people saw as the most convenient way of tracking the mission progress on the spot.
Some players (like me) can simply not play UR anymore. It has nothing to do with "I don't like changes, gimme what I'm used to". You simply can't play. Physically. Is there any chance that Flash version can be maintained/restored in that "deprecated" little state again?
I mean I'm missing out on 2 Lds I don't have and on Noctezumama missions otherwise, when I bought her for a high price... There should've been at least a warning 1-3 months ahead that flash will stop working and ONLY WebGL will remain (or maybe there was and I missed it, who knows).
New game UI is just clunky, cluttered, and unintuitive. Thank god I can look at my collection and the market like normal, but how long until this site is just this new version? Who thought it was a good idea to directly port the mobile version to a website?
Im playing since a couple of hours on my sh**** device. 0 bugs.
Did you updated something since friday?
If your web is slow to download first time its normal. Its a cache memory dl. After this it will be very very fast. If webgl is not supported you have desktop versions. You downlpad and install like any software. Easy as hell and works great. On apps too, version 4.5.6
I never said it was a fact, but if you're going to take my comments as attacks or something, then so be it.
You seem a little aggravated Saga. Maybe you should take a few days to cool off instead of making aggressive comments back at your community. I get that getting this constant barrage of negativity isn't fun to deal with, but lashing out is only going to make it worse.
