I'm going to stop playing at 200 I have work to do, but point is, by using an overpowered deck, I've reached that score far too quickly, pummeling decks that are cheap as chips in comparison on the way! Whilst yes, new players will get more prizes, without bans and matchmaking, this will not work!
And I think ultimately, this will turn back into an Elo-esque mode, hence the name ELO fighting championship...
Let's not talk about money for a second
Imagine that you're winning fights and get to 400 , and then suddenly , you face this hand :—
Ymirah Cr , Tiwi Ld , El Gascaro , Quetzal
It's almost unbeatable anyways , but then , you have a bad draw .
Can you defeat it ? I can't , don't know about you . BUT , the thing is that after losing , you'll lose about 40 points while your opponent gets away with 50 points . That's how easy it is in Dark Corners . There are not 6 rooms , only one room .
And trust me , it's basically ST1 till EFC Tower , because you have cards like Ymirah Cr and Quetzal to help you , although Graksmxxt Cr and Uranus are gone . After that , it's impossible to win . The player with the highest score is currently 273 points behind Z Palace . At that point , 5 victories negate one loss . That is how hard this mode is .
Out of my two suggestions , at least one has to be implemented . Implementing both would be the best though
I'll be honest , EFC seems good now . If limits are put on maximum scores that you can lose after a loss , and minimum points you can receive after a win , this would be better than ELO . Moreover , it would actually encourage players to play till higher stages and not stop early
