They are cool cards, but you have to shell out creds to play a really bad mode to get them. I am not against paying the credits, i'm against the awful grind that is playing arcade mode. I want Ashikaze Ld, for example, and i wish i could've used the 26 credits i've already used on arcade mode to buy her instead of hoping i get lucky for ten games in a row. Weekly missions are obviously unreliable, last week i got Chopper Ld, one of the very few LDs i didn't feel like i need (since Raptors have such insane 3*), instead of like any other LD out there. I need Ashikaze for my Elo deck now, not whenever the rng feels like giving it to me.
Three Lds per week is a bit too much. I understand you want better chances on getting certain Lds, but once you get them all, they become credits. So more available Lds=more credits for the old timers.
Plus the old clan-specific LD missions sucked because the 'clan of the week' would jump at least 2K in price, and wouldn't come back down for like a month...
I will just repeat what I said last time this question came up: LD cards are cards you can't just pay for, but that anyone can get with enough effort. As long as they keep this concept, I really don't care if they want you to "Get lucky 10 games in a row" (I love how you don't even consider that maybe it's not just about luck) or if they want you to give an extra chance by allowing you to get a random LD every week at the expense of doing 5 really easy missions.
You can still make a Z Palace deck without LD cards, specially if you don't need mono. LD cards are just kind of a reward for people that tried a little bit harder. If anything, I'd like them to be a bit harder to get.
You want luck? Let me tell you about the time Kate pulled f%##*^ Kiki Cr AND Ongh Cr not once, not twice, but 5 times!!!!!
Nope. Still not salty about it. Not salty at all...
And tbh, I never liked the Z-Palace argument. The majority of players will not play using Z-Palace rules, so saying 'you can build a Z-Palace deck' seems nearly pointless to me.
I think the problem is that when Lds were introduced, they weren't exactly the best cards. Useable? Sure. But none of them were exactly game-making (Bonnie Ld is the exception); they were like status symbols. Back then, it was a non-nessisary reward for a resonable amount work.
But now the staff are using Lds as a balancing tool. They strengthen/weaken the cards based on both Clan and Card usage, (for example, Freaks needed an aggressive 2 star, and #Plague Ld was created). This means Lds are now important to at least consider when building a deck. Now, this method seems to be working, but it can isolate the players who don't have the card yet, and fustrate them when they don't get the card in a timely manner.
I'm not sure they were all usable...
Sylvia Ld was released as a 6-6 backlash: -3 life min 4, and no one used her ever.
Bella Ld was a 5-5 revenge: +2 power, and Sharon was better than her in every aspect.
And the list may go on quite a lot...
