@ChaosDragon88 yes it is a challenge, make useless card with 1 damage and ability to protect it anyway I still think you and your crew should reconsider making protection counter "exchange" ability, just like damage exceed should counter reanimate. It really does make sense what I am saying if you take closer look.

Quite an interesting discussion going on about this whole protect/cancel/exchange mess. I like it!
I think the best way to sum up what I was trying to say is "You can't stop something that is protected; only protect yourself from it". I understand Rowdy was trying to be helpful, but I was aware that Davina doesn't reduce Pandora, merely suggesting that she SHOULD-- that because her All Stars bonus is protected, it cannot be negated by the SOB bonus ~or~ the COM ability... but that it WOULD be blocked, were Pandora to have Protect [P/D] instead of CO[P/D]M.
It's only two very small things I'm asking for here:
-Protection to do a better job of actually protecting
-Protection and COM to differ from eachother to a greater degree, rather than one just being an upgraded version of the other, older, incarnation.
See, that confuses me. Just to clarify:
You think Protection should also work for the ability/bonus it effects?
So if Davina works against Pandora, would El Tortillo's bonus work against Raptors and Nightmare? Would Petit Coq's bonus also work, even though he 'only' has Protection: Attack?
On a side note, suprised switch dmg was used before Impose (the reverse of copy, the opponent's stats match yours)
El Tortillo would be protected. You can't stop his bonus while protection is active, so his bonus takes effect. End of story.
Petit Coq would be where issues arise. His attack is protected, yes, but his bonus is not, so it would be stopped before giving the protection ability a modifier to protect. Or is his bonus technically protected, because it raises his attack, which can't be adversely affected? I would say the former, because takinbg into every instance of 'technically' would cause everything to grind to a halt.
I did say in my first post that this would almost certainly cause problems. If I knew the answer I'd be running my own game
