Type 3 Requires the sum of the cards to equate to at least 40.
In Survivor, it is an acceptable strategy to go ahead with the supposedly strong 5 Star cards. They can still be countered with Equaliser cards such as Aegis, Fisty Cent, Kylorenne. In addition, starting with lower stars gives the advantage of playing second in the first round. It can help plan playing based on the opponent. To not be allowed to use the strongest to protect consecutive wins just beats the purpose of the challenge Survivor gives if you ask me.
There are still some strong 3 Star and 4 Star cards such as Uranus, Maximus, Judge Lynch, Lyse Teria Cr, #GraksmxxT Cr, Jackie Cr, Quetzal Cr just to name a few who can counter the Equaliser of Hive.
I see Rowdy's point... The 40* 12 cards minimum allows for some great low star cards to be played, like Uranus and Lyse Teria Cr, while also letting players use those beasty 5*! So you can use those cards, if you want.
But I agree a bit more with Goldmoon. T3 is just a 12 cards T2 in Survivor, at least that's what I've noticed, and Hive don't seem very popular (truth be told I haven't played much Survivor yet). Making T3 a "12 cards 40* max" will really mix up the gameplay! I'd love to see that.
