Sometimes I'm forced to forfeit a match because of connectivity errors, as reloading can take some time for me (and I'd rather try to end a fight than leave somebody hanging). There's also the issue that, I suspect, quite often a timeout is cause by a ragequit, possibly difficult to differentiate from an actual connection problem.
While I agree how frustrating it is when it happens too frequently, especially during KO missions or DTs, the button is there for players to use if they so wish. You could say using it at all is more of the bad etiquette we were discussing on the Lost Warehouse thread, but at least there is a (minor) penalty for quitting too often.
"I dont agree, because the game lags alot.."
"Yeah sometimes pillz count wrong or you cant play any card then end up getting timeout"
"Sometimes the timeout its not because player go intentional inative about the game, but the game lags and sometimes do "stupid" bugs..."
You (three) only think about a possible punishment for the one that makes the time-out.
But I guess most people want it hte outher way around. It should only count as a knockout for the one that doesn't timeout or quit.
No punishment for laggy connections but a less frustrating gameplay for those that want to complete the numerous KO missions.
Well im not talking about the game bug. im pointing out that timeout is so disadvantageous for the winning party. and most of timeouts were caused by butthurt people who i defeated pretty bad in DT. 6 timeouts in a DT is not cool when you could KO him with leftover pillz. since this DT subforum were talking specifically about DT.
"Missions" were just a general example where it's less complicated.
Of course, in DTs, where you get a bonus for winning with K.O. it's not less important.
On a sidenote: Don't get confused by the "Game rules" where it still says that the one quitting or timing out gets a -20 points penalty in DTs.
This was removed to not punish the players with technical difficulties.
But of course this also created the possibility to exploit it and just leave the match without consequences.
The game lags all the time, nearly unplayable on the phone app, the site is now even laggy for me when doing nothing else on my laptop. Their old client was 100% better, why did they get rid of it, or steer away from it ? I think if someone continuously disconnects then they should be temporarily banned as they are doing this on purpose.
I'd also recommend breaking up all formats into mobile/stationary situations, I don't wanna play someone on my phone if they are using a desktop sorta thing. Most connections issues come from cross platform bull stuff, at least in my experience.
Youi're daft! Since I joined all T.O. are generally UR caused. There are wankers pretending DT is ELO and play mindgames but Bug's thread are pages and pages of daily lag, connection errors, browser glitches, WebGL WebGL New not functioning, Steam login ganks, UR 5.5 not recognizing logins. Bullocks!!
There are chavs hurting matches using timeouts but speaking for myself I timeout frequently and there's nothing wrong with my ISP or school T1. I just want to enjoy fun games and I agree Timeouts are the worst.
No it shouldn't count as KO
I agree @PetiteHarley, most timeouts for me are purely the site/mobile app. I do notice though, if im playing DT and im going to obviously win, players will timeout on purpose. Ruins my score, I guess thats what they are going for. Should be counted for KO.
