Looking at the list (and factoring the recent changes to EFC), it seems that staff are trying to limit 0pill attack manips. Ever since Dominion were introduced, I feel like there was a shift towards attck manip clans, so this is their way of countering it... probably?
It can't be easy to balance the whole game out and make a profit out of it. Broken cards like #Behemoth, Death Adder, Serafina were released to make money. But by adding the "new big ones" they had to release other cards to try keep balance IDK. And those cards were half broken.. etc. It seems like it's a big ol mess. But every decision UR has made, you can't blame them. Idk, it's my humble Mexican opinion.
You do know when cards or a clan show being played a lot. puts them in the mind we might wont to ban this cause other clans an cards are dropping. Plus a lot of those cards have counter part cards that do what they can do but no ones uesn them now you have to.
torro cr was banned an truth b told i don't mind it at all he is heavly used as a staple in gheist. now players have to get off the torro cr crutch.
an there is another card that can do what toro can do some times even better.
i bet you that's why they did it to nock down the most heavy used clans an the cards in them that have counter parts in the clan for you to use them instead.
At this point you would think that they would invest some time into an eternal format with little to no ban list for the people wanting to actually use those broken high dollar cards that just sit there and do nothing. Bans serve many purposes, foring a change and invoking creativity being one of the benefits, but they also stifle the creative process of overcoming the power house cards that make the game what it is. I can understand banning out the 1HKO cards like kolos, because that turns strategy into gambling, but things that are just blatantly overpowered, while not actually changing the concept of the game, should have a voice in some format somewhere that gives incentive to be competitive. The basic idea is to ban things that change the actual game to something less than what it could be, not remove cards that make people feel bad.
