As a token of apology for the issues we had during the end of the Season 19, caused by this update, we sent to EVERY active player of the past week a gift of 18.000 CryptoCoinz and 50 Credits.
The new EFC season kicks off today!
Start date: 05/11
End date: 02/12
A little update to the list of EFC bans could take place later in the week. Stay tuned!
Weekly Z Palace top 10 card reward: McLain (Week 1, 2), Crook (Week 3, 4)
Following our latest EFC rehaul, we have a new update:
- The EFC zones are now twice as extensive
- Points you lose in the event of inactivity will be doubled
These changes are designed to help experienced Z Palace players find suitable opponents, as the more points you have, the harder it is to move up.
New players will also be in a better position to easily find players of their own level.
With the soft reset, the route to Z Palace had become a bit too short and as a result, some players were able to reach it after having only played a few hours a week.
We want Z Palace to be a bit more exclusive and difficult to reach, and this update is aimed at doing just that.
Now over to you to try it out!
@NaaRcho I have no doubt that you understand the math side of it more than I do. I'm just saying that the good players are at the top and the bad players are at the bottom and that this, to me, means that the rating system is doing its job. I feel that if you are bothered by the 'incorrect' math but can show no 'incorrect' results then you are standing on principle alone and it makes me wonder what your principle even is. As I said before if you adjust the system then the scores will change but I don't believe the standings would change. You care about the numbers. The raw math. The score. But I don't. Because score means nothing. It is a number applied in order to rank people. I don't care if my score is 1400, 3600, or 10. I want to know where I rank among other players-- that is all. The other points you made-- about how a player playing a player ranked the same as them should get 0 points instead of 8 or whatever... or how a circle of players will enable eachother to climb... that is probably intentional. So that even bad players have a feeling of achievement and improvement. A purely psychological difference made to an otherwise intact ELO system.
Arlo the TOP10,20,100 etc increase every day that's not normal and it forces everyone to keep playing. It doesn't make sense that a person starting from Z Palace and winning 40/50 matches the first days of the season gets probably 300 less points than another person winning the same number of matches at the end of the season and starting from the same score
That's because ELO SHOULD BE ZERO SUM FOR EQUALLY RANKED PLAYERS, since we have positive balance everything goes up all the time I don't know how to explain it anymore
It makes perfect sense to me my friend. I see what you mean about rewarding activity rather than pure skill. But is it really such a shame that they reward both? Is it really surprising or upsetting that UR wants you to play? If I'm ranked 3000 and win 40/50 against people ranked 3000 on a Monday I will get the same number of points as if I'm 3400 and win 40/50 against people ranked 3400 on a Friday. Now if you didn't play all week and you start on Friday with 3000 and play 40/50 against people with 3400 yes you get more points than the other scenario. But how is that unfair? They are ranked higher than you. And, as you rise to meet them, your accelerated point gain decreases.
I strongly disagree with your zero sum policy for equally ranked players. If we are the same rank and I beat you will neither of our scores change? Or do I not understand? Because THAT wouldn't make sense to me. Say I'm ranked 3rd in the world... I only have 2 players that I can play against that will raise my score. So I might as well not play. UR doesn't want you to feel like you might as well not play.
A game like this-- that ultimately is trying to make money by having an ever-increasing and active fanbase-- is never going to institute an ELO system exactly like chess for example. The game would stagnate my friend.
We are both at 3600, we play each other, if I win I get 25 points and you lose 25 => point sum = 0 (ZERO SUM)
We are both at 3600, we play each other, if I win I get 30 points and you lose 22 => point sum = 8 positive, this is how EFC works right now, and it doesn't work. It is ok for low zones but not for Z Palace
We are both at 3600, we play each other, if I win I get 25 points and you lose 33 => point sum = -8 negative, this is how at some point EFC should work for very high scores
You were arguing against something I proposed without even understanding it, I am not going to comment on this thread anymore and on the point system anymore, it's broken and it needs to be fixed
