I've been going by the kang vs robb debate lately and in general I must say I've found robb a lot more useful. He's 1 power down against SoA but he opens up a lot more possibilities.
He reduces most opponents power to 2, this means that as well as the obvious destruction of high powered cards he almost as importantly sneaks underneath the Sakrohm / uppers bonus staying on 3 whilst they're on 2, this alone has won me a few games against unsuspecting players.
Add to that the fact that many reduce power cards have a min of 5 (eadh, olga, kluwn etc.) leaving him to get through with his effective power 10 as opposed to kangs 8 + 6 attack.
Of course the real problem is currently you will very rarely be able to play the deck with both roots and All-Stars getting banned just about every other week. Though I suppose the All-Stars could be pushed out of the way from time to time I think they are mostly a counter to GHEIST.
yes, he is most likely will have more 2 power than your op card if there is no SOA or SOB
if there is SOB, he has equal power with your opp, with SOA he still virtually 7/6
and combined with 6 damage, he is staple, better than randy or kang in level 3 all stars
Hum... I can see why he is used against GHEIST (even though Leviatonn still gets him), but against so many other clans ? I don't know. He should have a hard time against SOB (especially SOB from Bangers and Ulu Watu) and any 8 powered SOA. Roots should welcome him as a nice victim with their high powered cards.
I guess my playing style is just not fitting for him. *shrug*
These thoughts remind me again to get my hands on Hawk though.
