They’ve traveled a very long way from the Future and are certainly not there for sightseeing! Under the orders of their tyrannical emperor, the members of the Vortex Clan have come to Clint City to eradicate, at its very roots, the trouble that will be caused by the Clint City Clans in the future. The first to arrive in town are Neloe, Deea, Sunder and Heegrn, who are there to case the joint and prepare for the imminent arrival of the other clan members. The invasion is underway. Who can stop it now?
Get these characters in the shop’s packs
I was really dissapointed when they released only 4 cards
However the knew clan could be like Cavemen and Knights and Diniosours, one character stole the time thing Vortex has created a new clan with Knights, Cavemen, Dinosours
Bonus could be copy opp bonus
Protection Bonus +5 attack
Improve Skeelz and include Protection Ability +5 attack...
I seriously hope they cards suck, because the bonus is completely overpowered.
I'm pretty sure the game makers just love the Nightmare clan, because with each release they seem to make it stronger and stronger...we will see even more people using Nightmare in ELO now.
I'm having nightmares imagining in a couple of weeks everyone using Vortex + Eklore on ELO.
I have a feeling they will release Vortex card 4 times per week.
this will create 24 Vortex cards in 6 weeks, and not bypassing the number of Skeelz cards available (coz they were the last clan released before Vortex).
you know what i mean.
"I seriously hope they cards suck, because the bonus is completely overpowered."
Sorry, but all comments like this show is that you've glanced at the bonus and not actually put any thought into the actual context of the game or even bothered to try the cards out.
The bonus is in /no way/ OP.
For a start, having to lose a round to activate it puts you at an immediate disadvantage. You're not always going to be able to manipulate the loss to your absolute benefit, and you might end up letting through a high damage card that will make winning difficult regardless of your pill advantage.
Covering a card with only a couple of pillz gives you a low pill return. And in most contexts it will work out exactly the same as, say, sending out a DR with no pillz.
The way this bonus works best is when you lose by a couple of attack points. Very close mid pill battle losses. IN this context you can come out with a 3-4 pill lead with the potential to fury to catch up on life gaps.
There are other contexts where the bonus will work well. For example, if you have the chance to secure a win via a life gap with a certain Vortex card but are one or two pillz short of a secure win, sending it out with all pillz blazing will mean that even if your Opp blocks it with a higher pill counter you'll still win with your pill return.
This situation will be far too rare to be called OP, however.
The main ways this clan is balanced are as follows:
Their bonus doesn't help them secure a win.
SoB destroys their pill manipulation ability.
SoA really cripples their attack potential.
Attack and Power manipulation clans will give them a hard time, just like Jungo and Freaks.
Vortex are a support clan who will be able to produce some very interesting mixes. We'l have to wait to see what abilities their given in the future, but I very much doubt the staff will buff them too much in this regard.
Honestly, try them before you cry OP. They really aren't.
Just a thought, what kind of an evil empire gets destroyed by sports fans, rappers, feminists, snobs, Hogwarts, mafia, martial artists, pirates, aliens, arm.... Okay, never mind, Clint City has enough groups to bring down the planet and more. >_>
Anyway, so far, from what I played with them, they feel like "insurance". If I pill with 4 and lose, I gain 3 back. If I win that one, I deal damage and am good with it. And if I bluff, I gain 1. This forces your opponent into some serious mind game, since they can't be sure how much is "too much", worse than any other clan. (Especially since bluffing for them results in an extra pill)
Shadowcouncil: Can you imagine a situation where they lose? They are only crippled by SoB, but that happens to every single clan other than Skeelz and the SoB clans. If you pill 5 and lose, you get 4 pills back. 5 pills is a pretty standard opening to most games, and isn't exactly aweful winning by spending 5 pills. With Eklore, their pill control would work as a charm to win in the last 2 rounds (the last round being Eklore to damage).
It is OP, unless they make their cards pretty bad. Won't be that great for T2, but for ELO where you need to think about your bluffs it is a bit too much, since they can't really lose a lot of pills (in some cases, even get pills back).
time will tell if they are overpowered or not,.. but remember ! if you use 5 pills and get beat you get 4 pills back
but if you use zero pills and get beat you get +1 pill that is 2 pill advanatage compared to when you actually pilled and lost
"It is OP, unless they make their cards pretty bad."
No, it is /not/ OP.
Again, try /actually/ playing with the clan before you throw hyperbole around like it's fact. I've tried them in Elo mode for the last few days and they are nowhere near dominant. In fact, they're currently quite an easy clan to predict and beat.
ALL claims of OP at this point are just ridiculous.
Vortex are a support clan weak to far too many manipulators to be OP in the slightest. The very fact that they need to lose to activate their pill return is a massive balance.
Honestly, those crying OP really aren't putting any thought into it. :/
PS - Eklore mixed in a 3/4/1 deck isn't as great as you think it is.
