They’ve traveled a very long way from the Future and are certainly not there for sightseeing! Under the orders of their tyrannical emperor, the members of the Vortex Clan have come to Clint City to eradicate, at its very roots, the trouble that will be caused by the Clint City Clans in the future. The first to arrive in town are Neloe, Deea, Sunder and Heegrn, who are there to case the joint and prepare for the imminent arrival of the other clan members. The invasion is underway. Who can stop it now?

Just thought of something. This clan is HIGHLY deadly with 2hkos.
Let's say you have Deea win the first match with only 1 pill (because you expected them to pill just enough to beat it).
You have 11 pills and they have 11.
And hey you just so happen to have Heegrn in your hand. Because of the protection: bonus ability, this scenario is difficult for anyone without an all stop, DR, or maybe a pill manipulator.
With 11 pillz left, you should put them all into Heegrn. What do you mean why? Afraid you'll get predicted?
Well 11 pillz + 1base results in 72 attack correct?
Meaning a 10 Power (and god knows how many of those are out there?) will need 7 pillz to win. Oh no, you just lost the fight and with them still having 4 pillz left how are you suppose to...
Oh wait. Due to the clans bonus not only do they only have 4 pills left, you ALSO have 8 pillz. ((11 +1)+2/3 =
Dangerous right? The 2hko potential in the clan is one to acknowledge. Making them highly useful and while predictable in ELO, the mind game and sometimes inevitable doom will make them great in ELO.
That helped me understand alot about the new clan, I have 100k saved up when they first came out, I bought them all, And sold them 10 mins later not understanding wth they were, And no one has helped me realize how good they are, Until you posted. That made me sell my ambre and freaks clan too go buy them again. I Now know how to play them right, And i can relax with my pillz. Thank you.
"Fact of the matter is, Freaks do ok-to-well in halves and suffer badly in mono. That's just the way it is. There's evidence abound in the simple fact that you hardly ever see them played in comparison to the more popular clans."
@ Showdowcouncil. I find it quite ludicrous to say that they suffer badly in mono! How ridiculous! Considering how popular the nightmare and pirana clans are to play right now, what does the freaks bonus have anything to do with it? Quite often you have to rely soley on ability and base power. And the freaks have some of the highest raw power and plenty of cards that can deliver 2 hit KO's if that's the sort of game you are looking for. Their abilities are not dependant on courage, confidence or revenge like a lot of the other clans high damagers and -opp power cards (Jay, chiara, annibal, mawpin, wardom etc), meaning they can be played that deadly every round. ANY card, no matter the clan, can be neutralised with a good DR!
The fact freaks are not played as much anymore is one of their strengths! People don't know how to play against them! And those of us still using them have a lot of success with them. If you can't up your game to play with a little more skill and strategy .... don't blame the cards!
If you are basing your game solely on the bonus of the clan you are using, i sincerely hope you don't come across a strong nightmare or pirana deck anytime soon, as it seems that would ruin your game for you!
Hmm thinking about the 2HKO situation also made me think about how they can dominate another way.
It's probably much less likely, but here i go.
Let's skip to the important part, ignoring card detail, etc. You're facing a person with 2 Uppers cards. You have 5 pillz while they have 3. You do the calculations and you only need to win once in order to win the game. They need to stop you twice. You're the one attacking, and although you have more pillz, you know if they put in all their pillz against either of your completely pilled cards, they'll beat you. And if you don't pill, and they don't pill, you lose due to their bonus. So it comes down to luck/prediction.
Now normally it would come down to a 50/50 chance. Either you pill all with one card, or you don't pill at all. Then it'll depend if they pill or not.
In this case using Vortex, you've already won. Pill all your pills into your first character. You either won, or you lost and get 4 pills back due to Vortex's bonus. You proceed to win the next fight.
Again, this is just a situation, and may rarely happen. But it'll happen, and Vortex gets to win by default. Yet another mind game to look out for when going up against this clan.
" find it quite ludicrous to say that they suffer badly in mono! How ridiculous! "
Ludicrous? No, not really. Some of your own reasoning certainly is, however. SoB removing bonuses is a plus? If that's a main focus of your plus points for the clan it highlights a massive problem.
Please bear in mind that I'm not calling Freaks awful. I like the clan a lot, they have some wonderful cards and lots of high power that can make for some very intimidating hands. Their style is also different and fun to work with every now and then. this deck, for example, got me 1300e+ back when I was struggling to break it:
Wither & Bloom
The facts speak for themselves I'm afraid, with a bonus that works only one time they suffer greatly as a mono clan. High power and decent abilities really don't make up for that lack.
The clan are just outdated currently, they can work wonderfully in a half the very fact that they're hardly ever seen as a mono says all you need to know.
Try and argue against it all you like, but the evidence is there and far too bright to dampen.
"If you are basing your game solely on the bonus of the clan you are using, i sincerely hope you don't come across a strong Nightmare or pirana deck anytime soon, as it seems that would ruin your game for you!"
Of course I'm not, but SoB isn't rampant enough for an out-dated bonus's faults to be negated by it.
You're not going to to run into SoB any more than half of the time, and most likely considerably less than that.
Again, claiming that SoB is a major plus for freaks just gores to show exactly how poorly their bonus stands up in the current climate.
Oh, and I'd like to point out one thing:
Once you get Freaks bonus in once, it's like the clan you're facing has SoB even if they don't. So in a way, it doubles up their bonus for them.
A rather silly way to put it I know, but it does highlight the clan's major flaw as a mono quite well.
Yes, but it /doesn't/ balance the clan.
You can go on about not relying on a bonus until you're blue in the face, but there are two main facts the prove the Freaks are broken as a mono clan:
1 - Their bonus only works once.
2 - They're almost /never/ seen as a mono deck.
