It seems you needed some more explanations about new changes in ELO. We will do our best to explain those changes here.
We want to use the ELO bans not only to make this mode more balanced but also to make it funnier. Therefore we will ban several characters in addition to the ones which are already in the staff list.
The characters in this additional list won’t be in the staff banned characters list. Which means that it won’t be penalizing in Daily Tournaments.
We are making these changes in order to make the ELO mode funnier et not letting it strategically freeze. Therefore this list of characters may regularly change. We try hard not to make too big changes at a time so you can easily follow what’s happening.
One more thing :
A new system will be released during August to see how the ELO mode will improve. In September, according to the results we will decide on the definitive changes which will be necessary.
Here list of the characters which will be banned in ELO from next Monday (08/02):
(You’ll also find the ELO staff banned characters)
Staff banned (with DT penalties):
Zatman, Ratanah, Wee Lee, Jackie, Lyse Teria Cr, Vickie Cr, Kiki Cr, General Cr, DJ Korr Cr, Tanaereva, Guru Cr, GraksmxxT, Lamar Cr, Alec Cr, Marco, Kolos, Hawk
New list bans (no DT penalty):
I'm tired of this testing. It seems like it's easy for characters to get banned, but not to get unbanned.
Most of us don't have the clintz to buy and rebuy and rebuy and rebuy every week when our decks get ruined by these bans.
Nearly 25% of my collection is now banned.
I'm starting to get really furious about this situation.
dont buy and rebuy too much... that is a losing tactic in the current ELO format. Every week you can make 1300 easily using cheap decks (8k or so). Invest in cards that you know are fairly safe options and earn credits and clintz that way. as you earn creds and clintz.... use them to reinforce your existing decks, again focusing on cards that may be in play every few weeks, no point buying a big card for elo that may never see light of day (i.e.caelus).
the replay value of this game would be far far far lower than what it is now if every week players could compete using the same few cards week in and week out.
Buying and rebuying is fine. It's not a losing tactic in the slightest. In fact, if you don't have the time to invest as others do it's a very valid tactic.
Just make sure that you trade cards player to player to avoid the market tax if you're going to do it often.
Okay, i understand Smokey getting the axe. He's Corvus with 1 less star and power, and he's a Piranas, not to mention he's an excellent bluff. Alec Cr too.
But Kerry, Lea, Sledg, and Spiaghi is ridiculous. They're insanely weak cards, Spiaghi is only used as DR, unlike Bristone and Jeena. Every other card on the list seems fair (but Yayoi at least has to go, Pussycats are dying...normally I see them 2/10 of my matches, now not at all. It's like they've died), but seriously, don't ever bring up these cards again. They're insanely weak, 6 Power is not cool. Also, may I ask why you ban Marco but not Hax?
And again, Rowdy needs to get a break. He's the symbol of Junkz ELO, without him Gibson seems to be his only replacement, and Gibson is a common for a reason. Gil, maybe not. He's better than Hawkins if you ask me, and I'm surprised Eris hasn't received a ban yet!
Hope I contributed...
Sorry shadow buying and rebuying the new flavour of the week decks is a losing tactic.
you are talking about trading.... thats not buying and rebuying (for 50 clintz) in what most of us understand as using the market.
yup losing tactic for sure as you try to sell banned cards and weakened clans and purchase strong clans for that week.... yup logic dictates you will be losing lots of clintz. and who would trade you cards in your favour.... them giving up the strong cards for the week and you trading the weakened clans --- surely youd expect the VAST majority of UR community to simply sell these cards at a profit.
Repeat is talking about having to do it week after week --- and you comment on how doing it often will hit him with market tax (not to mention the likelihood of selling cards at a loss)
So, no, buying and rebuying your ELO deck on a weekly basis is counter productive. He is better served by investing in solid unlikely to be banned cards and using those most weeks with little adjustments here and there as the bans happen. Save the clintz to go buy the big ELO cards that are and will be allowed out occassionlly
Two things, waster:
- If you don't have xx hours to invest in the game to keep upping your clintz, then buying and selling is the /only/ way to keep on top of the changes.
- I've been buying and re-buying since I started playing the game, and as long as you check the market and sell/buy smart you can keep your clintz at an even level.
It's fact enough; my clintz goes up and down sure, but I'm never at a loss enough for it to be even a slight worry.
PS - And I buy and sell on the market. Trading p2p is too slow for me.
My total collection value (including raw clintz) goes up and down, but it's always steadily increasing when it /does/ go up. There are various tactics you can employ to keep your clintz up while buying and selling.
Tell me it's a losing tactic all you like, I'm using the tactic and I'm not losing anything.
