It has taken several months, but here he now is recharged to the max with highly combustible Copernica fuel and straight out of the Alma Mater where the Riotspolis Central is located. Having been brought up to speed by the Evolution Council regarding the situation on the surface, Pericles the Patriarch is about to emerge and put in motion his mass pacification project.
Demonic plans are hatching in the mind of Sakrohm alien, Zbuz, while B16 Sestra toils away in the shadows for her mini GHEIST master. Fortunately, we can count on Ichiko, the Fang Pi Clang miko, to soothe troubled souls. But just how does one stand up to the civilizing revolution of Riots’ Patriarch, Pericles?

How can Pericles be OP when he's that predictable and that SOA vulnerable? He's not a card that means an auto-win to whatever noob draws him, and he's only going to shine in the hands of skilled players that know how they should or shouldn't use him.
Besides, stats do not guarantee success. Look at Cortez: he's an 8/10 with a paltry backlash and he's not a wizard that everyone's crying foul over. Look at Raven: she's an 8/10 in mono-Junta with four of her damage being unreducable and lethal, yet she's not hot shit everyone's wanting to be banned.
Pericles is even more conflicted than those two; if you want his full ability you'll have to give up his bonus and his spontaneity. This guy is not worthy of a perma-ban, no matter how intimidating he is at first glance.
Just in case if anyone miss the first 2.

Pericles should be cheaper. I met him several times, 1 draw, 4 win. He is weak against aggressive desks.

Pericles is basically Kalindra, with less of a spread, and less reliance on the bonus. Or a fat Ulu Watu 5*.

Oh hush princekhlil12. If your post hadn't appeared after four hours you would've thought it was deleted too.

8 power =/= 9 power. You can't compare the nukes like that, just cause they are nukes.
TheOPG Titan Casual Grind Monday 08/09/2014, 02:01
neo_08ms: Umm, yes you can compare two nukes together because they are nukes. It's called "Which of these nukes is better at nuking and why?".
Also, he has a point. Both Kalindra Cr and Pericles are clan leaders with high power who are usually game-deciders but very SOA-vulnerable and only do their max damage at certain moments of a match, rendering them somewhat predictable.
Now, I think Kalindra Cr is far better than Pericles because of her superior gap potential, optimal 10 power, her bonus doesn't conflict with her ability, and that she's somewhat worthy of a permaban, but Kefalo has a point.
Kefalo Imperator Casual Grind Monday 08/09/2014, 02:17
Well, Kalindra's 10 power for 12 gap under pretty much the same conditions as Pericles (if you're taking him to 4 the round chances of that happening without you losing a round are kinda low thb) It's not exactly the same as he is quite bonus independent, but she's an arguably stronger card since she can gap for 8 on the first turn and gap for 12-16 on any other turn.
They're both vulnerable to SoA, he's a bit less vulnerable to DR, and he's not phased by SoB much, but I'd say in vacuum, she's a stronger card. Her clan is worse than his, though.

Kalindra cr doesn't bother much the drs.. because of life gap. Pericles is a little bit shabby damage maker on that part, but he makes counter measure to that part as a pill provider and a wall. If I play Kalindra cr and Pericles, I would make pericles as the splash card and kalindra cr as the force wrecker.
In the mean time, if i would choose a 5* in my riots half-deck. I will choose dr copernica because of:
-solid stats
-full and great synergy ability with its clan
-great wall/bluff with win-win situation
-great when paired with grace, grouchy and dr van wesel
Pericles will just become a substitute (i will say this bluntly as possible) to dr copernica when she is banned. Maybe you can squeeze both of them, but that's just reckless. He's a good card. He doesn't rely on his bonus or stats that much and he can go in half-deck or mono unlike other clans *cough**rescue* *cough* *la junta* *cough*..
TheOPG Titan Casual Grind Monday 08/09/2014, 18:49
I also second splashing Pericles. Honestly, the best Riots cards are the smaller ones, so I figure they'd be a good way of utilizing a clan with several gnarly 5*s.
Also, La Junta can be made into a good half deck. Sure, their really silly cards are either Support or General Cr, but there are good La Junta halves out there.
