Hello Clint City,
As promised, here are the updates for Survivor mode in Beta this summer.
These updates concern the server and functionality.
So, without any further delay, here is the list of changes:
- Increase of the current 45-minute time limit between two matches during a Survivor series to 12 hours
- Removal of the T1 room
- Removal of the daily and monthly ranking. Instead, we’ll just keep the weekly ranking
- New format, 12 cards, 60 stars max
- Reduced round time to make the mode more exciting: 80/70/60/50
- Increase in all the prizes awarded at the end of the week
- Integration of Deathmatch bonuses, that will represent a Clintz bonus at the end of the match:
1/Revenge: To get your revenge on another player: beat them after they’ve beaten you (not necessarily in a row) => 100 Clintz
2/Persecution: Beat the same player several times (not necessarily in a row) => 150 Clintz
3/Higher score: Beat a player whose Survivor score is higher than yours => 200 Clintz
4/Buzz kill: Beat a player who's in a series of 5 consecutive wins or more => 250 Clintz
The Hall of Fame will be kept because the mode is a Beta version.
If the mode is not satisfactory, we’ll reinstate the Survivor mode as it was before, with its Hall of Fame and 2 rooms.
However, if the figures reveal increased participation rates (around 600 players per day, we’d like to double this amount), then this mode will become its final version as of the second update (that only concerns its visuals) and the Hall of Fame will be reset to zero as it will no longer correspond to anything.
The second update (visuals) will take place at the same time as the new mobile version, that is, on September 24th on iOS and Web and October 15th on Android. The name of Survivor mode will also be changed then…
So, see you on Wednesday June 6th to test out this new Survivor mode!
Oh, and I forgot to mention. A good middle ground would be changing the 60* limit to 55*, or even 52*. Making it sixty just screams "jam 12 5* in there and you're good". While I don't belive 60* decks will be best in the format, at least make people think. You can make an entire new format in spirit of two previous ones. 12 cards will make decks srronger and different, while lower star limit would appeal to people who like to tinker with deck ideas.
It is indeed surprising how the staff decide to put such changes in Survivor. However, we can't judge it unless we give it a try. it is not a fixed changes after all. like what they said, if we don't play it much, they will consider resetting it. So let's give it a chance and after that we could provide some good suggestions
If you had to remove one of two survivor modes, removing T1 instead of T2 was correct choice.
We have 25* formats in EFC and DT T1 and even in DT T2 people who are winning them are using 26* - 30* decks, sometimes with more than 8 cards.
So without survivor T2 there are no other similar game modes to use such a decks.

-finally, i love this addition.
Deathmatch bonus 1 and 2 feels bit lame- less active is mode, higher chances to get these rewards.
But 3 and 4 are pretty similar. Maybe bonus for winning all rounds or with X life difference would make some more sence, but not sure.
@Izy7 Yeah, I get that. What I'm asking is do you have to remove one of the Survivor game modes? Because I can't see what you gain doing it? Is it better programing-wise? Is leaving something similiar to T1 too much work? I could understand those arguments, but I can see none.
