As a token of apology for the issues we had during the end of the Season 19, caused by this update, we sent to EVERY active player of the past week a gift of 18.000 CryptoCoinz and 50 Credits.
The new EFC season kicks off today!
Start date: 05/11
End date: 02/12
A little update to the list of EFC bans could take place later in the week. Stay tuned!
Weekly Z Palace top 10 card reward: McLain (Week 1, 2), Crook (Week 3, 4)
Following our latest EFC rehaul, we have a new update:
- The EFC zones are now twice as extensive
- Points you lose in the event of inactivity will be doubled
These changes are designed to help experienced Z Palace players find suitable opponents, as the more points you have, the harder it is to move up.
New players will also be in a better position to easily find players of their own level.
With the soft reset, the route to Z Palace had become a bit too short and as a result, some players were able to reach it after having only played a few hours a week.
We want Z Palace to be a bit more exclusive and difficult to reach, and this update is aimed at doing just that.
Now over to you to try it out!
1) No offense to anybody but... it seems to me that the people who want the point system to be harder are ranked low and the people who want the point system to be easier are ranked high. In other words it's working perfectly. I think this link might be useful https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system I won't pretend to understand the raw math behind the system but I would like the highlight what I feel is the most important sentence: "This means that this rating system is self-correcting. Players whose ratings are too low should, in the long run, do better than the rating system predicts and thus gain rating points until the ratings reflect their true playing strength."
So basically if you feel as though you get too many points for a win then this is only true because you don't win as many games as you think you win. And, of course, the reverse.
2) I would LOVE a hard reset at the beginning of next season, if that is an option. I enjoy making new decks and have been bored with Z Palace for a long long time. Also, point system aside, I do think it is slightly unfair for eeeeverybody else that the Z Palace players start in a field of their own every time. I'm sure that after 4 weeks the cream would once again rise to the top... but it would be more fun to start from 0.
It has nothing to do with positions Arlo. Many players do great in EFC and usually reach TOP50 while at old ELO they could barely reach 1400 so they are happy with the current point system and other players did great in old ELO and they don't find any motivation in EFC where playing a lot > winrate. I'm currently top20 in EFC with a 20-6-4 streak and I think this system sucks, I've been saying it since it was implemented
You don't seem to understand either the ELO system, because in EFC when 2 people with the same score play there's a +8 point balance WHEN IT SHOULD BE 0. EFC doesn't apply the ELO system at all
There's a big difference between top 50 and top 10. To me it seems like 1400 would have put you in the top 50 anyway. My old ELO record was only like 1427 or 1447 something like that and I never made top 10. But I probably always made top 50. And now I do a little better than I did. But it isn't so drastically better that there seems to be a huge difference in scoring. If anything I attribute it to perhaps some of the good players have left.
The thing is... those that didn't leave... those that still rank higher than me. They are good players. Each and every one of them. Phil NoLove. Miguel Alvez. SeeMars. And more. Anybody in Excalibur if they have a good week. Anybody in Open Casket if they have a good week. Anybody in Visao de Morte if they have a good week.
I play this game a lot. It is annoying to only get 7 points for a win. It is incredibly frustrating to lose 40 points for a loss. But my weekly placement, plus or minus 5 spots, is consistent. And the players that score better than me are better than me. With equal consistency.
Can you honestly say that your experience is different? Do you feel like you are better than people ranked higher than you? Do you feel like you are worse than people ranked lower than you?
Because whether or not the system has some mathematical errors it seems to me to ALWAYS arrive at accurate results. And so how could it be wrong? If you change the system the numbers will change but the placements will not. Mark my words.
