Straightforward enough: what makes you join an event? Some events fill up almost immediately, while others struggle to get enough players. So what does it take to get you interested?
Prizes? How big to they have to be to get your attention? Or how many need to be awarded?
Deck format? What separates interested from irritating?
Event format? Do you prefer team events, group play, or brackets? Or maybe something more creative?
This recent new addition is very great in drawing people attention - NPC to fight, Gruber and Moukrok. If there is a chance to fight them and get reward for that - it will always end up with higher activity in event. But...
In my opinion these new events are constructed in.. unappealing way. A lot of people probably think "okay, I will do 1 dmg and other guys will take care of the rest". If there would be any individual damage bar to fill, maybe with some savepoints to reach... that would be much better. If I remember correctly when Utchul was released there was also a ranking and top players were rewarded, so that certainly encouraged people to play.
I am aware that last events are called "community events" and it's a different type than the usual ones. But still these are my thoughts why they have miserable attendance.
I believe the prizes are the most important thing. Some years ago, maybe even with lesser prizes players would join for some fun, but this has quite stopped now.
Well, if you find a unique format, have decent prizes and advertise your event properly I believe it will attract players. Yes, I guess advertisement is the number one factor.
I think that events that are more of community based instead of fighting based normally have better atendances. Join that to the fact that most of these guarantee a prize in stuff like cards secret santa, or they have the luck factor in lotteries and you've got yourself the recipe for a nice event.
I agree that individual milestones would help with event attendance, and no, the side missions that require you to do something with a specific clan in a specific room don't count, because they're just like the name states, something that you do on the side of the big goal to keep things interesting. Something in the lines of every 1000 damage that you deal doubles the amount that gets counted toward the community goal, or for every 100 damage dealt you contribute with 5% more damage to the pool would spice things up for sure.
That and banning all major damage modify cards for the duration of the event(looking at you Uranus, Lady, Maximus, etc) , so we can, you know, deal damage and meet the goals.
I like how in Injustice they had bosses and clans would fight the bosses together. The bosses have a big o life meter and everyone fights the boss over and over until they defeat it or time runs out. That would be cool here, put thr Guilds on competition and at the end announce the winning Guild on the forums
