I hate EFT. Not because the game mode is unfair in any way, or because the cards are too powerful, or because the chance of your game ending in a 50/50 is higher than other modes, or because only the best of the best get to choose the ban list, or because its the most expensive mode to play, or because generally the New Bloods are the dominant cards in the format, or for any other reason you could think of.
I hate it because I'm bad at it.
Can anyone else relate?
I think that the only skill in efc is how you build your deck and what deck to choose to follow the meta in the moment you're in the room, nothing else is very important, i also find myself in games where it's decided by 50/50 chances and it's like that almost every time. So you can easily beat a player who is top 5 but you can also lose easily to a player who can't get out of chocomuscle ring. For example i beat the champion of efc from the previous season numerous times during this efc but he's at the top because he can follow and meta and counter players, that's why he has a win rate above 50% and with lots of games played it's obvious you're going to have higher points
agreed about the deck building 100%, however there is for sure difference between good players and weak players. That doesn't mean that good players never face 50/50 but the number of times they turn a losing game into a winning game is what separates the good from the bad. Additionally, good players will know win conditions better than a bad player. Good players VERY LIKELY minimize mistakes which sets them apart.
Yea I do way better in T1 tournaments I'm probably going to just stick to that. And a 50/50 is when there's a 50% chance you win the game round 3 and a 50% chance you lose because there are only 2 choices you have when making your next move. It happens a lot more than you'd think.
