One thing I like about UR is the parodiesreferences that some of the characters are based off of. So I thought we could make it into a game of what stuff you've noticed. I'll go first...
Jackie: Jaqueline Kennedy in drag
Rubie: Alternate spelling of ruby, a precious gem.
Tyler: Could be based on Brad Pitt. In the 2nd level he looks like his character in the movie, Se7en.
Frankie Hi: Frank Sinatra
Janine: Nichole Richie
Jeeves: A sterotypical name for buttler characters.
Sydney: Paris Hilton
Zatman: American Psycho (they even call him one)
Colin: Simon Cowell
Stanford: His name is the same as a prestigious college and the character being a student, it fits.
Gaia: The name means earth and since the earth is mostly water, it fits.
Ice Jim: Jim Carey (he definately looks like Ace Ventura in his second evolution)
Coby and Dayton: Their working relationship sorta has a Leathal Weapon vibe going on so it could be based on that.
Miranda: Name is derived from the term, miranda rights.
Skiner: Fox Mulder (especally in his final evolution)
Corrina: Her situation is similar to the main character in the movie, Sister Act, except that Corrina is with an alien cult instead a bunch of nuns.
Gastroboy: Name sounds like Astroboy.
Lunatik: Alturnate spelling of lunatic.
Phonos: His final evolution has a reference to E.T. and Men in Black.
Uranus and Venus: both names of planets
Pulsar: A form of nuetron star which fits with the clan's space theme.
Thomson: He looks like Tom Cruse whose a scientologist.
Jenna: Could be inspired from the cartoon Janna of the Jungle.
Lilly: Name is a type of flower which fits with the clans hippie-nature theme.
Matthew: Looks a little like young Bob Dillon.
Ben: Could be taken from the Ben and Jerry's empire that serves a lot of Roots-friendly cuases.
Miken Moose: Michael Moore
Yookie: Ryhmes with wookie, the name of a hairy, bigfoot like species.
Elvira: Her job is handling monster-related cases and the namesake, Elvira (R), hosted monster movies, it fits.
Pam: Her first level pic has a Baywatch inspiration to it.
Captain Bloodh: Taken from the literary pirate captain, Captain Blood. (If he were a litch.)
Deadeye: Cable (the fact that their cyber arms and flashing eye are quite similar)
Andsom: Add an "h" in front and an "e" at the end to get the word handsome (which this character is the opposite of.)
Hawkins: Jim Hawkins from Treasure Island.
Goldie: Relates to gold which she hold the key to.
Tyd: Alturante spelling of tide which a navagator might deal with.
Kenny: Harry Potter
Eadh: Take the "h" and put it in the front and you get the word head.
Hel: Same name as the Norse goddess of death.
