Colossus - Wise Men Distracted

Page 2

Panel 1: A long panel. Both men enter the now packed dining hall. Oscar (U) performs on stage doing his best James Brown as he sings. Luis (C) looks a little unsure as to why they are here of all places.

Ocsar: (Singing) A man gets lonely working hard on the road. Away from his woman, it’s a heavy load.

Luis (C): So what are we doing here?

Coby (U): Just getting an after-work bite to eat. With all I’ve heard, why let something as trivial as clan rivalries get in the way of good eating?

Panel 2: Luis (C) looks at him with a sly smile as Coby (U) struggles a bit when the busier greats him.

Busier: Hello there Mr. Glover.

Coby (U): Ok, maybe once or twice.

Panel 3: As they arrive at their table not far from the busier’s stand, a waitress with pigtails fails to notice Coby (U) signaling her to keep quiet as she glomps him.

Waitress: Coby (U)! How’s my favorite, most glompable customer today?

Coby (U): Fine.

Panel 5: The waitress happily walks off with their order as Coby (U) grudgingly admits everything as the two of them sit down. Luis (C) is fairly amused by all of this.

Waitress: I’ll go have the chief make some Montana Burgers for you and your friend.

Coby (U): Alright. Ever since my wife and kid became vegetarians, I’ve had to suffer. Not that Danni is a bad cook, but there’s only so much tofu I can take.

Luis (C): And nothing else?

Coby (U): Nothing else.

Panel 6: Rosa (R) walks by the table giving a sexy, alluring smile at Coby (U) as he groans and sinks into his seat.

Rosa (R): Oh there you are. I have a show at ten o’clock. Don (U)’t be late tiger.

Luis (C): *chuckle*

Panel 1: The waitress comes in with the Montana Burgers and places them in front of them. Coby look happily at his burger, knowing that things will be smooth sailing from here. Luis seems to be more interested in the owner of the voice that’s off panel.

Coby: At least I can have my burger in peace and quiet.

Voice: What do you mean you’re out of room?

Panel 2: Sharon (2nd level evolution) argues with the busier.

Sharon: I’m hungry here.

Panel 3: A loud whistling draws Sharon and the busier’s attention.

Sound FX: Tweet!

Panel 4: Sensing trouble as he notices Luis pointing to their table, Coby tries to warn him.

Coby: Oh no, you don’t.

Panel 5: Luis scoots over so Sharon can have some room as she happily rushes over in a Peg Bundy-style walk.

Luis: What’s your problem? I’m just helping a cute girl here.

Panel 6: Deciding that getting involved is a stupid idea; Coby pours his attention on his burger, mentally praying that nothing will go wrong. Starting his seduction, Luis kisses her hand as she giggles and swoons a bit.

Sharon: Thanks.

Luis: Anything for you, princess.

Sharon: *giggle*

Panel 1: Sharon and Luis happily leave the casino together. She doesn’t notice that he’s in the process of wrapping his arm around her.

Sharon: Thanks again for dinner. I get pretty bitchy when I’m hungry.

Luis: My pleasure.

Panel 2: He’s almost got his arm around her as they make their way to the parking lot, until something she says stops him.

Sharon: Just not a lot of nice guys out there any more.

Luis: Excuse me?

Panel 3: Sharon’s mood dims as she mocking portrayal of her husband trying to act suave.

Sharon: They pop a ring on your finger, scoop you in your arms and grunt, “Stick with me baby and I’ll treat you like royalty.”

Panel 4: Sharon snaps her fingers as she feels a little miserable about it all. Luis offers his sympathies.

Sharon: And poof, two years later it all goes to hell. Everything’s a lie and you’re nothing more then a trophy because he's no longer there.

Luis: Sorry to hear that.

Panel 5: Sharon cheers up a bit, but then gets distracted by Luis’ motorcycle. Little do either of them notice, that a shadowy figure is watching from the distance.

Sharon: It's ok. If he expects me to smile and look pretty, to hell with him. I’ll live like a princess without him.

Panel 7: Luis pulls her close, flashing a seductive smile as she laughs. The shadowy figure reveals to be Giovanni as he smiles over the chaos this will cause.

Luis: If you need a prince, I'm your man.

Sharon: Oh you.

Giovanni Thought: Excellent.
