Well Smokey is like the Piranha clan's balls > A piranha deck without Smokey will be different, but it will never be better.
Wasteroftime - didnt mean for it to just be a lul u nub l2p post, but really clans like jungo have NOTHING going for them but some rare strong characters, sylth being 1 of them (if the only), without characters like sylth that can make your opponent over pill or lose for not pilling and not having a form of SOA they really dont stand a chance.
also lehane and hawk are equal if not a better combination than zatman/dorian. the only thing is sentinels characters in a half deck other than lehane and hawk are much weaker than uppers decisions.
wise - what elo rating are u playing at? cus from my experience when u get into 1300-1400s u dont see gheist anymore but u sure do see roots everywhere, and gheist downright loses to roots every time.
Of course Gheist loses to Roots every time... They have 1 8 powered card(a 5* CR, too), while Roots are filled with them.
Roots vs. Gheist is just a battle of stats... And Roots win power-wise every time. Gheist have more damage, but it does you no good if you can't win the battle anyway...
But that doesn't mean Gheist is bad, just because it loses to one clan...
When every other person you play against is using roots, yes gheist is pretty bad. is ghest bad in general? no not really, but it is worse than its "sister" clan which almost makes it pointless to play especially considering top rated play has roots all over.
i can honestly say when u hit 1300s every other person literally is playing roots. i remember this very distinctly because i was bored last week so played gheist/junkz to about 1340 and i'd keep jumping up and down because every other match was against roots and i would NEVER win if i had 2 or more gheist.
also.. why exactly is smokey worth banning, yet gil isnt? they both have a bluff factor and gil is only a 2 star which makes her alot better since finding good 2s is much harder than 3 stars.
Gil is only best in first or second round(sometimes 3rd, but rarely cuz of min 4), while Smokey is useable in the first 3 rounds no matter what. And SOB is much better than +8 atk, as it blocks Roots/Gheist SOA.
Smokey > Gil, but both are great. Gil doesn't deserve to be banned, she is easy to play against, while Smokey isn't.
I still cant believe you honestly think smokey is ban worthy. he does THREE DAMAGE, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PILL AGAINST HIM. YOU CAN SOA HIM!
im sorry but gil is just as good as him, just because its a 2 star. if you opponent has 4 pills by turn 3 you probably win already .
gil isnt good against SOA bonuses assuming u just want to use her ability, but smokey sure as hell isnt good against SOA abilities. you could go both ways.... i just dont see how smokey is bannable. just dont pill against him, its just 3 damage.

The reasons why smokey are better than gil are huge, as gta said above he's in a pill clan, he also is equal - gil vs sak, nightmare, piranas, sentinel and junkz, but is better against uppers, montana, pussycats, roots and gheist, in some cases ulu watu, bangers and all stars. Meaning he not only has a better chance to hit opp, but a better chance of hitting his ability and doing 3-5 dmg in the process. He can also bluff against jungo without having to worry about their bonus, and can overpill against the power/atk modifiers.
Then there is the ability itself, gil has a min of 4, smokey has no min or max at all. Also when overpilling, if smokey plays say 6 pillz, the player goes back to 9, but gil with 6 pillz, player still remains on 6, opp could be anywhere from 9 - 4 pillz. To stop gil's ability, you can use any soa, but to stop smokey, you can only use soa abilities or full stoppers (dieter, shakra etc), which makes him less vulnerable.
If anything, gil is better compared to hawkins, even then hawkins still has many of the same advantages smokey does, not to mention the min of 1.
