The monastery of the Golden Mountain is a very select institution to which only the very best have access, according to the late Lost Hog Cr’s rules. Some occupants of the prestigious establishment come in search of knowledge, technique, enlightenment or even a Bruce Lee collector’s edition film. As for Bengal, he left his country for one reason only: to challenge one by one all the masters of the Fang Pi Clang and show them that his Tiger Kick is the most destructive move known to man. Okay, there’s nothing particularly original in that, but what else can you expect when all you’ve been trained to do since birth is destroy banana trees with knee kicks!

Protection: Power And Damage
The Power and Damage of Bengal cannot be reduced by an opposing character while the Protection ability is activated.

The kung-fu taught at Fang Pi School was developed in the Golden Mountain Monastery and is an ancestral martial art. The Clan, lead by the merciless Lost Hog, wants to enforce its warmongering ways on each and every one of us. To gain world supremacy, the Clan is fighting to overthrow the government in favor of a Bruce Lee clone that it has created and raised in secret.

    CrystalNeon's ÉLO Reviews:

Name: Bengal (Referense to Sagat from SSF IV or Lee Sin from LoL)

    Stats: 9/2
    Ability: Protection: Power and Damage
Fang Pi Clang Bonus: Damage +2

-9 power for a 3 star, strongest it could possibly be.
-Shuts down all PR's including but not limited to Nellie, Tula, Robb Cr, Aamir, El Gringo, Noemi.
-4 Damage with his bonus which is protected and 6 with fury allowing 2HKO's with Yoshida. Kuei, furious Fei, Tsubame and pretty much any other 4/5 star in the Fang Pi Clang
-3 Stars makes space for the big hitters

    -Costly for newer players
-2 Damage is pretty low for a 3 star but tradeoffs have to be made somewhere, right? Better him have 2 damage than 3 or 4 and be ÉLO banned.
-Attack manip hurts in fights below 4 pillz.
-Competition is Shifou who is solid, Zhu Tang (if he ever gets unbanned), Kamekan who is the only decent attack manip although he has 2 less power he is weaker due to his reliance on life left. His only strong competition in his own strengths is Ralph and he hasn't got protection so he is more vulnerable to PR and DR's therefore more shaky.

9/10. This card's only flaw is attack manipulation vulnerability and his damage which allows him to remain in ÉLO so it's not that bad, his 9 power shreds through many opponents and the All Stars just cry, many people also think you bluff with him as he is a decent wall and his damage is low so not worth pilling, however people tend to blind-eye the 2HKO as he can easily fury and still have a very respectable attack.

    7/10 my a$$

9 BASE power overturns any weakness that FPC has, which is, low power and in the face of SOA, even lower power

Except the weakness to power manipulation, which he, oh wait, is immune to.

    4 protected damage.

    All Stars die.
    Pussycats die.
Rescue die. Their low power means that Bengal just pillz 5 pills and Rescue will have to pill 6 just to match him. Past 5 and he's pretty much solidified victory.
    La Junta die. Lower power.
Ulu Watu? Pill for pill they are equals, but Bengal's higher damage means they die.
Sakrohm? Their power/damage reducers are useless. They die.
    Uppers low power. They die.

See where I'm going with this?

Bengal is a very stable card. He's ubiquitously useful, a multi purpose tool that straight up carves into most foes like swiss cheese.
As a 3*, he makes room and fulfils his purpose: 3*s are supposed to win fights, and counter strong cards, yet deal enough damage to gain an advantage even if you're not going to win the game off of 1 fight.
He's a brilliant card in case the pricetag didn't help you realize that.

    I'm seconding Crystal Neon.
    9/10 it is.

Everyone's talking about Bengal's Tiger Kick being Sagat from Street Fighter,

While I think he represents Joe Higashi more.

Bengal is reference to Sagat from the Street Fighter series.
"Tiger Kick" gives it away because Sagat moves revolve on the theme of "Tiger".

Oh, I just noticed that the name "Bengal" is a word play for "Bengal Tiger"...yet another reference to "Tiger" a theme for Sagat.

"Bengal Tiger" is a tiger subspesies found mainly in India.

Sagat is known to be a good friend/partner of Dhalsim from India in the Street Fighter game and manga series, hence "Bengal Tiger" and not other subspesies.

    Well played UR! smiley

Bengal can be based on 3 apparent personas
First one could be Lee Sin - The Blind Monk from the MOBA League of Legends. Both have the same apparel(headband, clothes, moves)
The second persona could be Sagat from Street Fighter(The Tiger Kick, hence his name being Bengal , as in Bengal Tiger)
The third persona he might be Tony Jaa, a professional Muay Thai and overall Mixed Martial Arts fighter (from the ONG BAK films, search them on youtube). His fighting moves overall resemble that of Bengal, along with the fact that Bengal practices a Martial Arts style similar to Tony Jaa.
Here's a video comparing 2 of the personas I mentioned(Lee Sin and Tony Jaa) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UY8cDZXbc3U
I don't know which could be more correct, but either way, the card is great and is something the Fang Pi Clang needed for a 3 star. Hope you liked the trivia smileysmiley

He's most likely based off of Sagat from the Street Fighter series, whose theme is tigers, but he does bear more of a resemblance to Adon, also from the Street Fighter series, who wears more of the traditional Muay Thai attire. Hope this helps.
