The monastery of the Golden Mountain is a very select institution to which only the very best have access, according to the late Lost Hog Cr’s rules. Some occupants of the prestigious establishment come in search of knowledge, technique, enlightenment or even a Bruce Lee collector’s edition film. As for Bengal, he left his country for one reason only: to challenge one by one all the masters of the Fang Pi Clang and show them that his Tiger Kick is the most destructive move known to man. Okay, there’s nothing particularly original in that, but what else can you expect when all you’ve been trained to do since birth is destroy banana trees with knee kicks!

Clan's bonus Damage +2
The kung-fu taught at Fang Pi School was developed in the Golden Mountain Monastery and is an ancestral martial art. The Clan, lead by the merciless Lost Hog, wants to enforce its warmongering ways on each and every one of us. To gain world supremacy, the Clan is fighting to overthrow the government in favor of a Bruce Lee clone that it has created and raised in secret.

    Feels like a very solid version of Chan who just has to worry about SOB and SOA + damage reduction.

    Competition includes
    Kamekun a good low pill initiation card thanks tho the +attack at start of the round.
    Ralph the cheap alternative that prob doesn't do as well against threats that Bengal eats for breakfast.
    Shifou the solid 8 who can generally get around bonuses and excels over Bengal in this specifically.
    Zhu Tang the life gaper for those who dont elo.

    Might use in a mono only deck as the clans low stars in Fang Pi Clang generally suffer damage wise without their bonus to lean on.

    Bengal, based on Sagat (Street Fighter)

    Pros:
    * Superb 9 power!
    * Power is even more superb (superber? that can't be right) because it's protected by his ability.
    * Did I mention immunity to any All Stars without SOA? Hell, even the ones that do have SOA will lose pill for pill.
    * Damage is also protected, so you won't have to worry about damage reducers (take that Pussycats!)
    * With the bonus this is a 9/4 3-star card. Not bad.

    Cons:
    * Any SOB.
    * Seriously, you only need to throw your 2-star SOB against Bengal, and he's down to a pathetic 2 damage.
    * Limited bluff potential. You probably aren't going to scare anyone with your 4 damage (at best), and against most clans you still have to pill at least once just to win the bluff.

    Overall: 7/10
    Bengal is basically a powered-up Chan: you get solid power and +1 damage for +1 star. The question is, do you really want him?
    As a wall this card works very well against almost everyone (Bangers, Ulu Watu and cards with power=opponent power are your only worries), but the damage is so low that your victory will be Pyrrhic. As a clan with no attack manipulation, Fang Pi Clang need to create threats to force the opponent to either over-pill or under-pill, but this card forces neither. Worse yet, Piranas decks are fairly common and all clans now have good SOB cards, so this high-powered card will likely be reduced to a measly 2 damage. Just imagine this card going against Puff or Oscar and losing.
    On the other hand, this card will save you against the likes of Caelus Cr. But this only underlines the problems of this card. When it's good, it can be a life saver, but otherwise it a waste of space since a 3-star card is harder to fit than a 2-star one.
    Speaking of 2-stars, this card can replace Chan for extra KO potential, but you'll probably won't want them both in your deck unless you can't help it.

    The saddest thing is that despite my low score, Bengal is very good for a 3-star Fang Pi Clang, but that just serves to show have lackluster the other 3-stars in the clan are. You'll likely pass him for 2-stars to make room for your heavy 4-star and 5-star hitters.

    Joe's combo (1 kick high damage) in King of Fighter 2000 has a 'tiger roar' sound.
