Yes! At last! After twenty or so failed attempts – the majority of which cost the lives of dozens of Vortex underlings – Rahi Sledon has finally done it! C Dusk is alive and working! Created from a fragment of artificial crystal bombarded from its molecular formation by gamma rays, he undoubtedly represents the most versatile unit of the imperial troops. Because C Dusk is able independently to modify his own genetic sequence and alone represents the entire Vortex arsenal. And yes, his simple appearance is deceiving, because in fact each of his body parts can, in less than a second, change into a weapon that can bring about nightfall…

Clan's bonus Defeat: Recover 2 Pillz Out Of 3
In a distant future, a prophet revealed to the menacing Dregn that an alliance of the descendants of the Clint City Clans would bring about the downfall of his evil empire and an end to his reign of terror. To put a stop to this defeat, Dregn has sent his best fighters to eradicate the problem at its source, that is 1000 years earlier, at a time when the clans are at their most divided.

    [elo review]
I think a lot of players will underestimate C Dusk, and write it off as a "predictable card" that doesn't play out to the advantage of Vortex's bonus.

Yes, it is true that C Dusk is predictable, and yes, it is also true that C Dusk (itself) does not full take advantage of the Vortex bonus.

However, C Dusk is insanely strong in certain circumstances. If your opponent does not have a DR or SOA avaliable, and does not have more than 14 life, then Fury C Dusk on the last round will ALWAYS win the game.

Majority of Vortex is weak to SOA. C Dusk is no exception, and so it is not really a reason to write it off as a weak card because it is weak to SOA. (since you can make the same argument for most other Vortex cards)

What about +Life effects? C Dusk has some weakness to +Life effects since they bypass his OHKO condition, right? But that's where Cyb Lhia comes in. Between Cyb Lhia and C Dusk, you can trap your opponent in a hard position whether or not they have +Life or SOA effects.

Finally, DR. Admittedly, C Dusk is weak to DR, but not that much more than Dagg or Deaa. In fact, he can deal slightly more damage against DR compared to them. In any case, it is possible to have T Gaank and X-0DUS to compensate.

In terms of usage, I think too many players are thinking that you have to OHKO with C Dusk to make him a good card. But that's not true, you just need to deal enough damage to win the game. Winning R1 with Dagg, and R3 with C Dusk might be enough to win you the game sometimes. He has 5 damage without his ability, potentially more with it, and 5 damage is usually what Vortex has been working with in elo.

C Dusk is not a perfect card. It will significantly increase the chance that you win SOMETIMES. And other times, it will just be a 8/5 card with maybe +0-2 damage.

So let's evaluate (assuming C Dusk is used at the last round):

+0-5 damage: After winning, you will be at 8 life (or more), and since you deal 5 damage with C Dusk, you will probably win the game if you had dealt at least 2 damage before the last round. Interesting note that C Wing can be used to set up this condition in elo.

+7 damage (with Fury): full effect, OHKO, if you played other Vortex cards before C Dusk, its very likely you will have had extra pillz from losing with them.

At its worst, C Dusk is an average Vortex card. At its best, it wins the game. All in all, that makes it an above average card that is worth using, just because you get free wins from drawing it in certain hands, and because the average 8/5 stats is good enough to win some games.

Top tier card? That depends on how much DR, SOA and +Life are flying around on that particular week.

Cards with maxes are a thing now i guess with that skeelz card being released...that said,i guess this card sees heavy rotation in elo...i mean with cards like t gaank(protected power and damage),dagg of course with that nice attack boost, and of course X-0DUS.

And yeah he still makes a gap no matter what your life is,but having that max of 8 hurts his flexibility, because then your opponent knows you're going to try and play him for maximum effect, and if its against a damage reducer, his ineffectiveness kicks in even further because your opponent will know theres no true incentive to pill much on a low damaged high starred card.

So yeah, idk.I would say this card is more depth, but i guess people really like him.

I disagree with most comments, I don't think this card will find a lot of use, it is quite predictable and destroyed after soa. Great artwork but unfortunately bad stats in my opinion:/

@ Pabst Blue: Lore doesn't always mix up with cards' stats (regarding your wondering how C Dusk is more destructive than C Beast).

The power of this card is such that it causes the opponent to think "He'll let my cards in, he wants to reach the min and gain a pill advantage" This can make you easily proceed to 3 pill your other cards and easily win.

Way too predictable, the good stats don't do enough to make up for that.

I notice that in his flavor text that C Dusk can bring about "nightfall". "Nightfall" is arguably Isaac Asimov's greatest short story. Isaac Asimov is also the creator of the character Prof. Hari Seldon. And Rahi Sledon is the one who made C Dusk. Thus we come full circle.... well played, UR.

I like him and predictability isn't always a weakness to all cards and can be used as a mind game in the right hands. At least he isn't conditional then that would had made him useless.

There are cards that are best for low pilling and there are cards that are best for high pilling, but this card belong in an under rated category of cards best use with low life.
