The forest is a place awash with wondrous creatures. Bakko was a young faun who spent his days playing the flute. But one day, he stumbled across a rather special amphora that poured as much wine as you could ever wish for, and that’s where his life began to change. The call of mortal pleasures meant he was welcomed with open arms by the Roots who were determined to show him just how cool he was in the world of humans.

Hey man, society is just so uncool! It's Babylon here. But, the Roots, right, they got it, they knew things couldn't keep goin' on that way; we have to make it real again. So, you know what the Roots did? They went to Babylon to tell the government that everything wasn't gonna be alright, man. But no one would listen to ‘em and that really messed with their minds!

    fauns and satyrs are not related to god Dionysus, but to god Pan. Dionysus also called in ancient Greece as Bacchus, or (Bakkus) is equivalent in some way with the roman god Liber, or Liber Pater.

    This guy is one big Bacchus reference, the Roman version of the Greek god Dionysus, god of fertility, wine, ritual madness and theater. The mythological creature most commonly associated with Dionysus is the faun.

    Bakko review;

    Pros:

    7 power is solid.
    5 damage is solid for a 4-star card.
    Artwork is colorful, vibrant and eye-pleasing.
    SoA doesn't kill him (especially when used with the Roots clan bonus which is SoA).
    Ability of -2 opp pow and dmg.

    Cons:

    The ability min is 6, which is very high.
    4-star card, so takes a lot of space in decks.
    Has competition such as Shakra, Burdock, Tuck, Gretchen, etc.

    Overall- 7.5/10. Bakko is a decent card. However, his high min of 6 is a big blow when he is used against opponent cards. But overall, he should be a card used in at least a half Roots deck.

    Liber, Bacchus and Dionysus

    Liber's associations with wine, inebriation, uninhibited freedom and the subversion of the powerful made him a close equivalent to the Greek god Dionysus, who was Romanised as Bacchus. In Graeco-Roman culture, Dionysus was euhemerised as a historical figure, a heroic saviour, world-traveller and founder of cities; and conqueror of India, whence he had returned in the first ever triumph, drawn in a golden chariot by tigers, accompanied by a retinue of drunken satyrs and maenads. In some cults, and probably in the popular imagination, Liber was gradually assimilated to Bacchus and came to share his Romanised "Dionysian" iconography and myths. Pliny calls him "the first to establish the practice of buying and selling; he also invented the diadem, the emblem of royalty, and the triumphal procession." Roman mosaics and sarcophagi attest to various representations of this exotic triumphal procession. In Roman and Greek literary sources from the late Republic and Imperial era, several notable triumphs feature similar, distinctively "Bacchic" processional elements, recalling the supposedly historic "Triumph of Liber".
